He is currently a Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager at Auris Health. He enjoys mentoring because it gives him a chance to work with smart kids on interesting problems. He gradua...ted with a mechanical engineering degree from Olin College of Engineering. Travis was a student on 971 for 3 years and was team captain his senior year in 2008. Travis will go through his thought process as he designs a yet to be decided robot mechanism during this talk that begins at 6:00pm PST today. Counting down to our Saturday, 2pm PST, Spartan Series Software talk, Camera Calibration: Precision & Alignment for Robots. Our mentor, Jim, will showcase Team 971's approach to camera calibration for our vision system. Since 2019, Jim has worked on developing camera calibration for 971’s vision system. He is Chief Technology Officer at Blue River Technology, a John Deere company, that develops sprayers to improve agriculture using machine learning, and has been there for o...ver 7 years. Prior to that, Jim has been VP of Product Development at Datalogic and Evolution Robotics Retail. He has an Electrical Engineering degree from Brown University and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from CalTech.
