#ThrowbackThursday March 7, 2014 San Diego Regional Match #11 During Autonomous the robot shot the ball toward the high goal, missed, and re-bounded. BUT the robot caught the re-bound and shot it a second time scoring in the high goal. The randomly timed lights on the goal lit up just before the ball entered the goal giving it additional bonus points!! #frc3476 #omgrobots #frc #aerialassist

The flap in action!

Team 3476: Code Orange 04.05.2021

Starting #WackyWednesday off with our flap from 2016! It was made from plywood, tape, a random cylinder, and hex keys as a prototype to give this robot a 3rd shot position before champs. We loved the original construction but designed a 3d printed version of the flap that we ran on Newton in 2016. #OMGRobots #FRC #FIRST... #Robotics #Robots #Flap #2016 #Newton #Wednesday See more

11 years ago, our team of 8 homeschooled students working out of a garage never anticipated that their team would grow to accommodate 50+ students from over 20 schools. We are tremendously grateful to our students, mentors, and sponsors for persisting past the initial lack of resources and knowledge, enabling Code Orange to become the team it is today. #FIRST #frc3476 #omgrobots

Today’s post is dedicated to Ashwin! He joined the team in his junior year and his programming and robotics expertise was demonstrated through his role as programming lead and technician. His efforts made up for the lack of programming students, as well as earned multiple awards. A large portion of our robot programming success is credited to him. Ashwin’s leadership was acknowledged and he served as team president this season. We wish you all the best after graduation! #frc3476 #omgrobots

Today’s post is dedicated to Tara! This past season, Tara was appointed as vice manufacturing lead and managed the building process, enabling the team to assign parts to students efficiently and keep track of everyone’s progress. She was also a welder and served as human player in the off-season. Tara’s dedication to the team was apparent through her leadership and consistent attendance to every team event. We appreciate everything you’ve done for us. Good luck! #frc3476 #omgrobots

Today’s celebrated senior is Cameron! While on the team, he primarily operated the haas and CNC, and manufactured many essential robot parts. Cameron used his skills to design, manufacture, and assemble an enclosure door for the CNC, significantly improving the noise level in the shop. Thank you, Cameron, for your dedication to the team and we wish you all the best after graduation! #frc3476 #omgrobots

Today’s post recognizes graduating senior Andrew! He’s been part of the team since freshman year and a member of the CAD sub team, in charge of designing essential robot subsystems. Andrew was also a pit crew member the last two seasons, his calm temperament allowing him to perform under pressure. His dedication to the team was evident through his constant efforts to improve each design after receiving feedback. Good luck after graduation! #frc3476 #omgrobots

Today’s post recognizes Nikki for her dedication and efforts over the past three years! Nikki served as human player during the FIRST Power Up game and received her certification on the lathe, using her knowledge to train rookie members. As a senior on the team, she took over the scouting lead position and trained new students, leading them through the process, as well as ensuring our data was accurate and reliable. We appreciate everything you’ve done for us and wish you the best in your future endeavors! #frc3476 #omgrobots

To help the health professionals who face the extreme shortage of personal protective equipments during this COVID-19 pandemic, Code Orange mentors and team members are 3D printing face shields which will be donated to local hospitals. Currently, the team hopes to make 95 face shields for the doctors, nurses, and other health professionals at Kaiser Permanente at Whittier. There is also another Kaiser Permanente in Orange County interested in PPE donations. The team appreciat...es monetary donations through Venmo or Zelle to Code Orange, or purchase the following items for donation, and give them to students and mentors who are 3D printing the face shields. To make the face shields, the team needs the following items: Transparent Sheets https://www.amazon.com/Waterproof-Inkjet-Tran//ref=sr_1_6 Rubber Bands https://www.amazon.com/Alliance-27055-Advant//ref=sr_1_10 PETG https://www.matterhackers.com//black-pro-serie/sk/MTVEPT25 PLA https://www.amazon.com/HATCHBOX-3D-Filament-D//ref=sr_1_3 Code Orange is 501(c) nonprofit.
