We’re excited to announce that Performing Arts Center, San Luis Obispo is presenting a Virtual School Matinee series this season! Our first Virtual Field Trip features Sonia De Los Santos, who will perform some of her favorite songs, tell stories of her Mexican heritage, and share the rhythms and instruments that make her music vibrant and enchanting The Sonia De Los Santos virtual matinee is sponsored by Bank of America. Bank of America is long time supporter of the arts in the SLO community. Partners of FPAC are helping us continue to bring the arts to our youngest patrons.
Support our virtual arts programs with a donation today! We look forward to the day we can bring students back to the PAC for School Matinees. In the meantime, we are providing Virtual Field Trips, ensuring that local students have access to arts and culture as they learn from home! Find out more about the virtual School Matinee Program at the PAC website. Please consider donating today to help us fund this program, so students can continue to enjoy and learn for free

When the Roosevelt administration rolled out tens of millions of dollars during the New Deal to fund artists, musicians, writers and actors, its mission was more than just job creation. It wanted to create a version of American culture that everyone could rally behind. Music, art classes, posters, plays and photography funded by the federal government were supposed to unite a nation in turmoil. https://www.capradio.org/news/npr/story?storyid=854864293
