IMPORTANT NOTICE: As of Monday, December 7th, the Charles Paddock Zoo will be closed to the public in conformance with the latest Stay at Home Orders. This closure will remain in effect for a minimum of three weeks, and we are closely monitoring the proposed guidelines and will continue to update our followers here on social media. The health and safety of our guests, staff, and animals are our top priorities. Essential Zoo employees will continue to report to work in order to care for our animals and facility. A while ago, we brought to the zoo a new species, a Southern Tamandua named Carina. Several months later, the opportunity came to send Carina to the Roger Williams Park Zoo to pair her up with their single male. Although we were sad to see her go, we knew that it was the best for the captive population of the species. We are now happy to share the news that Carina has become a mom to the adorable little Franklin who is being very well taken care of by our colleagues at Roger Williams Park Zoo. Just another example of AZA accredited zoos working together to save animals from extinction. @Rogerwilliamsparkzoo #RWPZoo

We had so much fun watching the animals play (and sometimes eat) pumpkins today.
