This sweet gal has found her new forever home here at the farm. Everyone, meet Fern! She is an eight year old American Guinea hog that came from a loving family who could no longer keep her, and were running out of options. In cooperation with the Sonoma Cart (Community Animal Response Team), we just rescued 36 chickens from the Walbridge fire. So glad to help the animals in need. Thank you to the CART and the first responders for making this happen.

This year has been one full of unpredictability, change and resilience. Forget Me Not Farm has continued to adjust and adapt to the needs of the community and the youth/families that we serve despite the restrictions of shelter in place. Instead of transporting cohort groups of eight preschoolers to the farm for biweekly sessions, we now load up smaller farm animals, produce and flowers and bring the farm to them where they can safely enjoy a sliver of normalcy, exploration, and healing. Thank you Congressman Mike Thompson! We did a virtual tour this morning to show off our animals and the program to kids who are sheltering in place. Lots of fun, enjoy!

Since sheltering in place started we have made a concentrated effort to ensure our youth will still have access to the organic produce they normally partake in. With the help of volunteers our garden's are now bursting. In this video from CBS about the awesome Food for thought Food bank, we are shown at ~1:18 min mark delivering a surplus of 110 lbs of summer squash. Forget Me Not Farm assisted Animal Place with chicken adoptions on Saturday. 1,000 factory farm hens were rescued from Iowa and flown here 2weeks ago. On Saturday we adopted 200 hens in just under 2 hours at Forget Me Not Farm. Other partners also held adoption events over the weekend and by Sunday afternoon all 1,000 chickens were in their new forever homes. Thank you to all of the adopters for participating in this life saving event!
