From time to time, the Insurance Services Office (ISO) collects and evaluates information from communities on their fire suppression capabilities. The ISO will then assign a Public Protection Classification to the community. Insurance companies use the Public Protection Classification for marketing, underwriting and to help establish fair premiums for homeowners’ fire insurance. Today, Mike DiMaddio, PPC Field Representative, Insurance Services Office, Community Hazard Mitigation came up to complete the testing, together with the Foresthill Public Utility District & the Foresthill Fire Protection District.
The Foresthill Public Utility District has scheduled the testing of fire hydrants tomorrow, Thursday 12/10/2020 for the Insurance Services Office (ISO). Some FPUD customers may notice variations in pressure &/or cloudiness in their water. When there is an increase or decrease in the flow or direction of the water through the water pipes, naturally occurring minerals can be disturbed, resulting in temporarily discolored water. We recommend flushing at an outside spigot. If the discoloration persists, please contact our office at (530) 367-2511.

As you know, there was a power shutoff at 1:00 AM Tuesday We want you to know that our crews were called in right away, and are still hard at work now, to keep your water running even after this shut down! We have backup generators, and storage tanks needed to make sure we continue providing you with the water you need. #watereliance #waterstrong #inthistogether

It’s Fire Season. There was a fire in Foresthill yesterday west of Portofino Road. Foresthill Fire responded with mutual aid and was able to gain control with the extreme heat & heavy winds. The Foresthill Public Utility District Personnel worked around the clock to keep up with the increase in demand as fire crews continued work throughout the night & into today. Our crews will continue to work to ensure the community has water to meet the demand for fire protection.

Customer reports are very important to early detection and repair of system failures. Thank you for your efforts. ... The crew used a distribution loop to deliver water to all customers and no service interruptions were required. Proper sanitation and testing protocols were used during the repair.
