Food on Foot

Are you in need of a meal? Beginning May 9th, our meal serving will begin at 1pm in the back parking lot of the LGBT Center in Hollywood (1625 Schrader Blvd). Doors will close at 4pm (last entry at 3:45pm). Everyone is welcome to receive a nutritious chicken meal, fresh produce, snacks, bottled water, and clothing. When the pandemic hit, Kay M. lost her job at Vivo Italian Kitchen. She was crushed. But now, a year later, she finally got her job back! A HUGE thanks to our loyal supporters for helping provide Kay and other unemployed participants with vital resources like rental assistance during the business closures. Along with the meals we distribute every Sunday, Food on Foot provides gently used clothing. We also distribute clothing appropriate for jobs and job interviews such as suits, ties, and dresses. Thank you to all who donate!

One of the hardest parts of this pandemic was canceling our Sunday Serving volunteer signups. But thanks to a select handful of help, we continue to distribute meals and clothing to 250+ people each Sunday. As we celebrate National Volunteer Week, we would like to thank those who have pitched in during these trying times. This also includes many of you who filled hygiene kits for our Care Package Drive. And a big shout-out to our wonderful Jobs & Housing participants who volunteer to pre-bag meals and organize our clothing distribution during each Sunday Serving.
