Folsom Police Department 10.11.2020

On Sunday September 20, 2020, Folsom Police officers responded to the area of Castle Park because a male reported a possible assault against a jogger on the Humbug Willow Creek Trial. Officers arrived on scene and located the victim who had multiple facial injuries and was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Officers searched the area, but the suspects were not located. Witnesses described the male suspect as a white male, with very tan skin, thin to medium a...thletic build, approximately 6’00 tall, late 30’s early 40’s, short dark brown hair, riding a beach cruiser style bicycle. The male likely suffered a cut on the right side of his face during the assault. Witnesses described the female as a white, with fair skin, medium build, dyed blonde hair of medium length, approximately 40 years old, also riding a beach cruiser style bicycle. The beach cruiser bicycles were described as a matching set, with the male’s bicycle being dark colored. The male and female were originally seen traveling westbound on the Humbug Willow Creek Trail and after the assault were last seen traveling eastbound on the Humbug Willow Creek Trail. It is believed the male and female may live or frequent the areas east of Oak Avenue Parkway. Neither the male nor female were described as transient. A witness met with our sketch artist, and the attached composite sketch was the result. If you or someone you know recognize this man, we ask that you contact Detective Thibeault at 916-461-6474 and provide the information you have. If you see this man, please do not confront, or make contact on your own, call 9-1-1 immediately. Please do not post leads or investigative information in the comment section of this post, send a private message instead. The Folsom Police remain committed to ensuring a safe community in Folsom. The witnesses in this incident were brave in their reaction and swift action to report to the police. We ask you to discuss awareness with your families, and the options of stay with a buddy while out and about.

This week is Red Ribbon Week at a lot of local schools. Usually this week, we are out and about celebrating with students and talking about being brave and making good choices. But since most are still learning remotely, we wanted to share a message with all of them. Also this week, we will be featuring some fun activities for kids in place of our usual school visits and tours that take place this week. Check them out! #redribbonweek #behappybebravebedrugfree #wemissyouguystoo #seeyousoon

Hey Teen Drivers! We want you to be safe behind the wheel. Check out these quick facts and remember these simple rules to stay safe behind the wheel: Don’t drive impaired: alcohol and drugs (any type- prescription, illegal, or even over-the-counter) can impair your driving. Keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel: place your phone out of reach while driving (it is against the law to use one as a minor while driving) and limit distractions in your car like extra... passengers, eating, drinking, and loud music. Buckle up: before starting your car, make sure you and all your passengers are wearing their seat belt. Follow the speed limits. Trust us, your parents will thank you. Speed is not only a key factor in many crashes, but it also can come with a hefty price tag if you get a speeding ticket. Limit the passengers in your car. Studies have shown a correlation between the number of passengers in a car and the increased risk of a vehicle crash. In CA, if you are within the first year of driving with a provisional driver’s license, you may not drive anyone under the age of 20 unless you are with a licensed CA Driver over the age of 25 or they are an immediate family member and you have a note from your parent/legal guardian stating a reason why you are driving the immediate family member and a possible end date for the necessity to drive that family member. #teendriversafetyweek #InformedFolsom #buckleup #donttextanddrive #watchyourspeed #wewantyouhomesafe #weknowyourmomanddaddotoo See more
