Here's a new adult fiction that has recently been added to the library’s collection: Little Cruelties by Liz Nugent "An uneasy but powerful read from bestselling author Liz Nugent that delves into the darkness visited upon a family of three working-class Irish brothers, exploring the ways in which families can wreak emotional damage across generations and doom men to give in to their own worst impulses in service to a culture that has abandoned them"--... Our mission is simple: to foster the love of literature in the lives of our community members of all ages. It’s been quite a journey this year with many challenges. In our community, the public school district for Granite Bay’s children (EUSD) no longer offers school library services for at least this school year, and it’s still undetermined for future years. So, now more than ever, it’s important that families take advantage of the materials that are FREE and offered by our... public library. Families can still get library cards and search online to place holds that are easily picked up on site. Library patrons can also place holds for and borrow digital resources that can be viewed or listened to on their personal devices. Children (and adults) spend hours a day in front of screens, and their only opportunity to obtain books, free of charge, for much needed pleasure reading, is through their local library. Students no longer have access to the materials they have always depended on to support their classroom curriculum (biographies, state reports, ancient civilization projects), yet these resources are still available FREE at the public library. Granite Bay Library’s shelves are filled with books, magazines, DVDs, and CDs, as well as audible & eBooks, just waiting to fall into the hands or ears of everyone in our community who wants them! You are the reason we are able to provide more resources. Your donation will help to purchase more needed books and materials. We can’t do it without you. #GivingTuesday #FOLGB #Library

There is one day left in our campaign to give back to the heart of our community. Today, we would like to reflect on one way our library helps to build a healthy community. Our library is a place that offers free and indiscriminate access to information, resources and support for all patrons. How can we support this community resource? We believe the BEST way to support your library is to USE it! Get your library card and start reading! You can also access a wealth of resourc...es from Placer County Library online at: https://www.placer.ca.gov/2093/Library Another way to support your library is through it's Friends Group. To make a donation to Friends of the Granite Bay Library, visit: https://www.paypal.com/us/fundraiser/charity/2233857 For every $25 raised, we will give the Granite Bay Library a new book for their permanent collection. #folgranitebay #supportliteracy #lovemylibrary #granitebayca #granitebaylibrary

Words of wisdom from a favorite author. It’s a perfect reason why libraries are so important to our community - it's how early literacy can empower our little ones and can cement the foundation for a lifetime of learning. . Having free access to books - all kinds of books - is what helps keep a community strong . This is the heart of our effort to raise funds for new books. A healthy library is a library full of multiple copies of diverse books in good condition.... . Our goal is to give back 100 books to the Granite Bay Library. If you would like join our tribe of altruistic donors, click the link in our bio and help us reach our goal. . EVERY BOOK COUNTS. Help us spread the JOY of reading. . Link in bio to donate!
