ELECTION LOS ANGELES COUNTY. In 2012, out of 4 million registered voters, 2,236,704 voted. "The Obama re-election".) In 2016 ("The Trump" election), there were 4.5 million registered voters and 3,236,704 voted which was 70% of registered. In Presidential elections, the percentage usually is higher than midterms. We will see if the vote in this election is much higher than 70%. These are just LA County figures.

ELECTION 2020 NEWS LA COUNTY. Many cities across the country will be mailing out more voting ballots (called vote by mail or absentee) than ever before in fears that people will not want to vote in person. Every election brings charges of fraud and this one will be no different. Rather than vote in person (understandable due to Covid concerns), vote by mail actually increases the chance of voter fraud. So now LA County says it will mail out absentee ballots to all registered ...voters; normally you would have to request the mail in ballot. I disagree with mailing to all registered voters and I explain. Since COVID hit in January, the LA County registrar will be using a list that has not been updated and I am certain many have moved since January 2020. In the March 2020 election, right in the middle of the RONA storm, there were in LA County California six million eligible voters, of that number five million were registered, and of that number 2 million voted to make the turnout 38% of registered voters. These numbers are pretty much the same across the country. Our elected officials are decided by a small percentage of voters, which shows you the lack of faith the majority of citizens have in the government. The elite elect the elite. So now LA County Board of Supervisors and LA County registrar, knowing that only 2 million voted, will send out vote by mail ballots (or drop off ballots) to 5 million registered voters. The postal system I support but they have been hit by inefficient machines and reduced staffing. They already have trouble delivering the normal absentee ballots, now we want the postal service to process the mailing out and return of 3 million more absentee ballots. Yes, we all should be concerned with how exactly will that work. A lot of government time and money will be wasted sending out ballots to 3 million people in LA County who do not normally vote. What is the cost here? Government at its finest. I can see voting electronically one day soon , but not before the integrity and hacking of the system is addressed. We are just not there yet. POST ELECTION. Thank you to all the voters. Also thanks to the candidates. And thanks to the poll workers. Of course while many said the process would be different, no one said it would be quicker. And at some points it was not quicker. But for those who had to stand in long lines, there was the choice to vote by mail (apply before Feb 24) or fill out a provisional ballot and not necessarily wait in a long line. I saw a good number of elderly, etc standing in line at the poll...s and I did my best, as a candidate and not official volunteer, to direct them to the front of the line. I was able to say hello and "thanks for voting" to voters and I did some campaigning outside the 100 foot limit, at numerous voting locations. From what I could see at a distance, I would give staff 100% approval rating. There seemed to be numerous problems caused by the higher ups and matters beyond the control of the workers. Every worker I saw was talkative and helpful to everyone, but their work was made harder by the technical issues (machines not working, etc.) There really should be a thorough investigation after the election to see the true extent of the damages to the process, which was way far from being transparent. The county registrar Dean Logan claimed all had been tested in advance and was ready to go. Now he acts as if the whole process was a test for November. Has Logan ever heard of a checklist? They needed more workers at the Vote Centers. All these logistics should have been tested in advance, but they were not. See more

As a candidate, I am permitted to be within so many feet (100 or so) as long as I am not talking about my campaign. I was able to say hello and "thanks for voti...ng" to voters and I did some campaigning outside the 100 foot limit, at numerous voting locations. From what I could see at a distance, I would give staff 40-60% approval rating. The reason my rating is low is because there seemed to be numerous problems but caused by the higher ups and matters beyond the control of the workers. Every worker I saw was talkative and helpful to everyone, but their work was made harder by the technical issues your article mentioned. There really should be a thorough investigation after the election to see the true extent of the damages to the process, which was way far from being transparent. https://youtu.be/OTVXBgpYeHY . Hopefully the mistakes witnessed were management human errors, not caused by machine malfunctions, although numerous machines were not working. Each machine is basically on its own but while it counts how many ballots processed, it does not tally the votes. I think the vote tally is done manually. One pretty big flaw was that early in the election, sample ballots said that a list of write-in candidates was not available until 11 days before the election; this was in large part false because the lists of qualified write-in candidates was available around mid January on the county registrar site; even the City Clerk Election division of Los Angeles held back on releasing write-in candidate videos. Then I was told today that write-in candidate lists were not available at Vote Centers on February 22 and within the last few days some Vote Centers either did not have write-in candidate lists, or did not put them in places visible to the voters. On top of that, vote by mail ballots that mentioned procedures to vote for write-ins, may differ from Vote Center ballots that do not appear to mention how to vote for write-ins, in other words, the ballots may not be the same. How can you have integrity and a transparent election and the ballots are either false or not matching? Naturally I have gotten no response from the county Registrar office. VOTE G. Yes, there are write-in candidates even for the office of President of the United States. Please make sure when you enter the Vote Center that a list of write i...n candidates is "visible". The County Registrar says, "This list should be visibly placed in the Vote Center so that any member of the public may have the opportunity to see it." If you do not see the list, please remind county workers that the list must be "visible". A number of Vote Centers I visited did not have a list of write-in candidates at all. Election integrity is about informed voters. YOU CAN JUST VOTE FOR ME TODAY. G. JUAN JOHNSON THE RIGHT WRITE-IN ballot candidate! See more

Weird but common. Say you have a big living room or a big walk in closet. Just section it off and rent it out. HOME SHARING. I have heard of people who rented out their closet or kitchen floor as sleeping areas. Who says we don't believe in overcrowding. (not for me)

Updated LA COUNTY ELECTION 2020. New Voting Totals. "That includes 5,596 who voted on Saturday, and 4,092 who voted on Sunday. The number rose to 6,372 voters ...who cast their votes on Tuesday, and officials were expecting comparable numbers on Wednesday." "Of course, not everyone is using a center. Officials said 312,742 voters have cast their ballot by mail so far 8.9% of the 3.5 million ballots sent to voters. Ultimately, an estimated 63% of Los Angeles County voters are expected to vote by mail using hand-marked paper ballots in the March 3, 2020 Presidential Primary Election, according to the California Secretary of State’s office." Editor: As of Feb 26, Voting at Vote centers over 20,000. Vote By Mail 312,742. Total registered voters for Los Angeles County is 5 million people. According to this article, sample ballot booklets were mailed out to 3.5 million voters. My opinion is that if voters get to the polling centers and cannot vote for any reason not due to their own fault, or a list of write-in candidates is not available at the Voting Centers, then that constitutes interference with the election process. I believe over 3.5 million registered voters were incorrectly told at some point there was no list of qualified write-in candidates, when the list did exist on the county website, then that was interference with the election process.

With so many glitches, will voters trust the final results?

PAST ELECTIONS. In 1994 (and 1998) I ran for Mayor of Long Beach, California. In the 1994 race, we had a lady named Beverly O'Neill enter the race. She was not ...a politician. Even the experts thought she had no chance of winning. Well in her background she was a woman, and she was the former president of Long Beach City College. Guess what? Considered a political nobody, O'Neill won the race as Mayor. Just to go show what voters can do no matter what the candidate's background. I attended the Pico neighborhood council small group meeting yesterday. They discussed a new development at 1543 South Hi Point St 90035 may break ground in a few months. It is in a TOC zone. Interestingly I learned that the TOC zone does not guarantee affordable housing; this property is developed without the TOC optional incentives, so there will be ten $1 million dollar plus homes and '0' affordable housing units. Way to go Metro. Voters, do you care? See more
