Moreno Valley Senior Center and all Moreno Valley City Buildings will re-open on Tuesday, June 1st. Masks will be required and social distancing will continue. We are sorry to report that two of our dedicated FMVSCI members passed away in January 2021 from COVID- Esperanza Guzman and her husband. We found out when President LaDonna went to her home Sunday to deliver her Birthday bag from the FRIENDS. May they both rest in peace.

GOOD NEWS!! Beginning Monday, December 7th, the MoVan will be back in operation to provide our Seniors and Disabled adults curb to curb transportation for essential business at NO COST until further notice. Hours will be Monday through Friday 8am-5pm. Essential business includes medical, optical, dental and vision appointments, round trip. We are still limiting the distance to within 20 miles radius from the Senior Center. Unfortunately, the Senior Center remains closed t...o the public. In addition, essential includes grocery shopping, Salvation Army food distribution at the LDS church on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00pm-2:30pm (or until supplies last); Farmer's Market on Thursdays from 8am-1pm; and FSA Meal pickup (must be pre-registered) on Wednesdays between 9:30-11:30am. Appointments must be made through the 1-833-745-8454 reservation number and will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. No same day reservations will be accepted. We will be following the CDC guidelines requiring passengers to wear their masks at ALL times while on the bus, social distancing (which will limit the number of passengers at one time) and hand sanitizer will be available for recommended use. A special disinfectant which meets the EPA standards from the "N" list will be used. It is with a heavy heart that we share that our long time friend, member and servant to this Community, Irene Kendall, passed away today, Nov. 23rd at 100 years old. More details to follow. Please keep her family in your prayers.

Need some food assistance for Thanksgiving? Discovery Christian Church is passing out turkeys with all of the ingredients to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Distribution starts at 3pm until supplies last. Be safe and stay healthy from the FRIENDS.

Friday, August 21st is National Senior Citizens Day. Since the Senior Center provides PRE-REGISTERED food distribution by FSA each Wednesday, we are going to celebrate YOU during that time from 11am-1pm. FRIENDS of MV Senior Center will be present, handing out new clothing, non-perishable food items, toilet paper and more by the Senior Center. Did you know that National Senior Citizens Day is the day to let you know how much we care and it’s an opportunity to recognize your ...accomplishments. In 1988, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed this holiday to raise awareness about issues that affect senior citizens and their quality of life. Today, seniors are still active in their communities as well as continuing to have a strong presence in the workforce. For all you do and have achieved for the good of our community, senior citizens deserve our thanks!

Help me wish our Board Member Odelia Holmon a HAPPY BIRTHDAY and many more. She is the one responsible for the monthly Birthday Celebrations at the Senior Center. Now it is her turn to receive.

Thankful Seniors who appreciate PAWLOVE for donating dog and cat food. Today there will be more NEW clothing at no cost. Come by during FOOD DISTRIBUTION from 11am to 1pm.

Seniors: Need assistance feeding your dogs or cats during these trying times? Dog and cat food was donated by Shirley Morgan on behalf of PawLove to assist seniors with pets. Available during food distribution on Wednesday between 11am and 1 pm while supplies last.

FSA continues to provide nutritional support to our Seniors at the Moreno Valley Senior Center on Wednesdays from 11am to 1pm. Must pre-register. Pickup an application at the Center 25075 Fir Avenue. We appreciate the City of Moreno Valley who awarded them additional funding using Covid CDBG dollars.

Edgemont made the news for something positive like promoting good health in our community.
