New signs going up today!

Fletcher Hills Animal Hospital would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! We will be closed tomorrow and Friday. We’ll resume normal hours on Monday.

Lulu is excited about her upcoming vacation and wants to remind everyone that we will be closed next week for a much needed break. She and the rest of us here at Fletcher Hills Animal Hospital would like to wish everyone a safe and a Happy Thanksgiving.

Thanks to our new software system and lots of scanning of charts by Charmain, our old file cabinets are slowly going bye bye. Anyone want an old metal filing cabinet for free?

Just had some window treatments applied inside the new hospital. We’d also like to remind everyone that we will be closed Thanksgiving week as usual.

We are so thankful to have this great new versatile phone system provided by Cox but we are still struggling to understand all of its features. Right now, for some reason, phones don’t change over from voice mail until 9AM despite that we are here and ready to answer at 8Am. We’ve got a webinar scheduled next week but in the mean time your patience and attempts to contact us via email is appreciated.

Another busy Friday. We ordered lunch from Sombreros to celebrate National Veterinary Technicians Week. The staff bought cookies for Boss’s Day and our Book Keeper sent us goodies from Nothing Bundt Cakes. Looking forward to a nice long run tonight!

A humble thank you to Ann Scarvie and Gail Takahata for some nice new housewarming plants.

Yesterday I dropped off the keys to our previous location to David Cohn. When he took over the failed brewery project from our previous landlord he was left with a difficult project that was made harder by difficult times. Despite the hardships he continued to extend our lease long after it had expired so that we could continue to serve our community. For this we sincerely thank him. David recently mentioned to me that it’s not a good time to be in the restaurant business. On my way home I stopped for lunch at one of the Cohn Restaurant Group locations. I hope you continue to support them as well.

Over the years I’ve preferred working in places with windows in an exam room. Our new location has three exam rooms and there are windows in all of them. Here’s Leo checking out one of our exam rooms.

Same name, same phone number, same great staff but a new location for Fletcher Hills Animal Hospital! We are now located at 8807 Grossmont Blvd. In La Mesa.

One last look behind. Before moving on, sometimes it’s worth taking a look behind to reflect and remember where we’ve been and where we’ve come from. Charmain, Kimberlee, and Colleen spent the majority of their professional careers at 9160 Fletcher Parkway. As the newest staff member, I’ve only spent less than eleven of my twenty-five years in practice at this location. These last few years have been interesting under some challenging conditions but we’ve weathered the chang...es as best we could. Who would have thought that we would outlast the Souplantation? While it may not have looked like much at the end, this little practice served the La Mesa community for over 55 years. This one last look behind serves as a reminder that change is inevitable, surmountable, and, while not always, often for the better. We worked hard to find a suitable new location that would best suit us, our clients, and, of course, or patients. So, here’s to moving on and continuing to serve the La Mesa community for many more years to come. See more

An update: Charmain has the phones back in working order and has returned some of your calls. The majority of boxes are unpacked although we’re still trying to figure out where everything goes. It’s so nice to have all the extra rooms and space. It almost feels too good to be true! A special thanks to Susie Tucker for dropping off some tasty homemade candy goodies! We’re all going to sleep well tonight.

Well, I guess we couldn’t expect everything to go without a hitch. Currently, we can’t access our voice mail. Our hospital webpage, Facebook page, and Yelp page have all been updated with out new address. Our email is listed on the hospital webpage if you really need to contact us before Monday. Ok, back to unpacking and putting together stainless steel cages...

Busy day. New computers and phones just installed.
