We are fortunate to be joined by Rev. Dr. Rebecca Prichard this Sunday - the 3rd in advent. Many have commented that our services are joyful and hopeful - we are delighted to bring to you a time of spiritual nourishment each Sunday, or at your convenience now that we are online-only for a bit. If you are new to our congregation or new to 'church' - we invite you to be present with us because all are welcome here.

Members of our choir continue to keep us strong during this time, adding their beautiful voices to our Sunday Worship services online each week. We are so grateful to all of them and the leadership of the very talented Caitlin Shaw Giusta (conducting and also edited together the video). Here they are singing a piece by contemporary composer Joseph M. Martin. 2019 Hal Leonard. Streamed with permission under One License A-733080. All rights reserved

Construction is well under way on our new preschool playground! We are excited for our kids to have this great new space and some brand new play equipment too. The staff have also enjoyed seeing it all come together - can't wait to share the finished product!

We are currently seeking donations to create Thanksgiving Food parcels for families visiting our Food Pantry this holiday season. Items needed are: canned sweet potatoes, green beans, corn, cranberry and turkey gravy packets. Bring food donations to the Food Pantry during service hours Wednesdays (10-12 & 1-3) and Sundays (2-4), or drop off at the church office Monday-Thursday during business hours. Monetary donations are also acceptable if you are unable to get to the store.

We love our Preschool and all our wonderful students. They bring joy each and every day. Orange Presbyterian Preschool is a developmental play based school offering comprehensive activities for your child to receive a warm and nurturing preschool experience. We strive to provide the students with a foundation to grow socially, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually. Through play and education our students experience hands on activities designed to encourage language deve...lopment, physical stimulation, creativity, exploration and discovery. Our Early Childhood program is led and inspired by the collaborative teamwork of our Director Violet Fenton, and our dedicated staff. We all work together to enrich the childrens' early childhood experience. Our teachers are early childhood educated and have completed specific classes that equip them to be the best. Our entire teaching team is loving, nurturing, and CPR/First Aid Certified. Check us out at www.oppreschool.org. See more

Good morning Kids Cove FBI! The church is currently a construction zone. So agents, this task you will have to do from home! ... Go outside and enjoy all that God has created. With the change of seasons, many leaves on the ground have accumulated! Collect some leaves on your own and use them to form a cross to show how your love for God has grown!

Some words from Walter Brueggemann on this election day, from his book 'Prayers for a Privelaged People': The Noise of Politics: We watch as the jets fly in... with the power people and the money people, the suits, the budgets, the billions. We wonder about monetary policy because we are among the haves, and about generosity because we care about the have-nots. By slower modes we notice Lazarus and the poor arriving from Africa, and the beggars from Central Europe, and the throng of environmentalists with their vision of butterflies and oil of flowers and tanks of growing things and killing fields. We wonder about peace and war, about ecology and development, about hope and entitlement. We listen beyond jeering protesters and soaring jets and faintly we hear the mumbling of the crucified one, something about feeding the hungry and giving drink to the thirsty, about clothing the naked, and noticing the prisoners, more about the least and about holiness among them. We are moved by the mumbles of the gospel, even while we are tenured in our privilege. We are half ready to join the choir of hope, half afraid things might change, and in a third half of our faith turning to you, and your outpouring love that works justice and that binds us each and all to one another. So we pray amidst jeering protesters and soaring jets. Come by here and make new, even at some risk to our entitlements.

Something spiritual, fun, and beautiful for Thursday: these are a selection of stained glass scenes along the west wall of our Sanctuary (built 1964). The Biblical scenes depicted include: 1. Isaiah in meditation. 2. Mary, Joseph and the Creche. 3. John Baptizing Jesus. 4. The Lord's Supper. There are many other beautiful glass details to share on these windows - something to save for another day.
