Despite that, our team still managed to put together a themed virtual tour, which took place yesterday, in which we brought people together to learn more about SF Chinatown’s history. Shelter in Place does not stop us from training our young people to become leaders of our community! Over the past 9 weeks, we hosted an accelerated CATs Fast Track training program educating our youth on topics related to Asian American and Chinatown history. And finally, today we had our 8 youth participants presenting their final projects to members and friends of CCDC via Zoom! Good job everybody! Thank you for those who joined us today! Stay safe and healthy! . . . .... . . #ctowntours #chinatownalleywaytours #chinatownsf #adoptanalleyway #youthforsingleroomoccupancy #chinatowncdc #youthleaders #youthrunyouthled #asianamericanhistory @ Zoom University See more

It’s happening! Inspired by the W.O.W project in NYC, Vida Kuang and I are excited to bring ‘Love Letters to Chinatown ’ to San Francisco and Oakland. T...his project is an open call for love letters, poems, illustrations, paintings, etc. dedicated to Chinatown to uplift our neighborhood in its darkest times. Your messages can be addressed to someone you know who lives or works in Chinatown, a business, and/or organization. We will be translating your messages and sharing them on Made In Chinatown SF, and later posted around the neighborhood once shelter in place lifts. A big shoutout to Huiying for bringing forth this idea and guidance, Clara Lu for the amazing art, and Wing Wo On for bringing this idea into reality. Please share and join us in creating love letters to Chinatown. Link to contribute: tinyurl.com/ChinatownLetters [image description] A colorful image by Clara Lu of a love letter in calligraphy that reads: Love Letters to Chinatown . Next to the letter is an orange and a pencil bag and porcelain teacup from W.O.W. There are purple hands signing off a heart on the letter with a pencil.
