Fire Over Africa

Widespread flooding in the Afar region has displaced thousands of people. We were able to provide food assistance to many through churches that are providing shelter to the displaced. Pray for the thousands families in Afar that are affected by the flooding.

For you are the fountain of life, the light by which we see. Ps 36:9 It’s been a very difficult time for many families in Ethiopia due to political unrest, ethnic conflict, and the economic effects of COVID-19. We were able to partner with many churches across Ethiopia these past months to provide food to communities and financial support. This pastor was able to deliver money and food to some families that have been through a difficult time recently. We covered their faces... to protect privacy, but we are so grateful for local church partners that are faithfully and selflessly showing their communities the unfailing, relentless love of Jesus over and over again in the midst of difficult circumstances. Let’s cover these pastors, leaders, and families in prayer. Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens; your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the ocean depths. You care for people, O Lord. How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings. You feed them from the abundance of your own house, letting them drink from your river of delights. For you are the fountain of life, the light by which we see. Psalms 36:5-9 NLT

Today is the New Year in the Ethiopian Calendar. Happy New Year to all our friends in Ethiopia! It’s a big celebration today. We love you Ethiopia!

Because of the generosity of donors, this month we were able to provide support to many churches and pastors in SNNP, Oromia, Harare, and Somali regions. They received food support for families, monetary support, and in some cases, rent support. Thank you to donors who made this possible. Continue to pray for the church in Ethiopia. We received these photos from one of the churches distributing food to families in their community. God is always good. Your righteousness is unmovable, just like the mighty mountains.
