This mobile banking platform is a Black-owned full-service digital banking system that’s not only supporting the Black community but focused on empowering the Black dollar. Founded by AMB. Andre...w Young, Michael "Killer Mike" Render and, Ryan Glover, Greenwood Bank (@bankgreenwood) was inspired by the early 1900’s Greenwood District, where Black businesses flourished, and wealth circulated amongst the Black community. This month we are celebrating black change and history makers who are finding their hilltops and who we hope will inspire you to #AwakenYourExcellence . This week we celebrate two individuals paving the way in Tech. Iddris Sandu (@iddrissandu ), a 23-year-old Los Angeles native by way of Ghana, is an architectural technologist. Iddris’s passion for tech and community has led him to pursue equal access to information for communities with limited resources. From creating, ...mentoring, and tutoring programs in LA to founding a new school for tech literacy in his native country of Ghana, Iddris has used his platform to uplift and support communities through innovation and inclusion. Being mostly self-taught hasn’t stopped Iddris from collaborating with some of the top tech companies in the world such as Apple, Facebook, Snapchat, and Google. Iddris is also known for creating the world's first "smart-store" with the late Nipsey Hussle. When asked about how he has awakened his excellence throughout his career Iddris answered, "One of my aims over my career span has been to create ecosystems that facilitate the creating and maintenance of ownership for black people. Technology should serve as a building block for us to create on it; not just consume within it. This is the era where we are respected as inventors and creators of that which is to be used. For us Black History month has always meant celebrating Black Excellence. This Black History Month we want to shed a light on individuals who are creating change today to make history tomorrow. It is important to us that we do our part to use our platform to continue to change and own the narratives that would try to define us. We are and have always been excellent.
