If you read one social post today let this be it... These images show the helmet of top US Showjumper Laura Kraut after her recent fall. Laura’s horse was weari...ng studs and as Laura landed her head was stepped on twice. Laura sustained injuries to her face but incredibly is back in the show ring today as her helmet was designed to withstand this kind of impact scenario, the PAS 015 (PAS 015:2011) standard, with a BSI Kitemark (this kitemark means the helmet is retested every year). If your helmet does not show this 'PAS 015' BSI Kitemark on the label, your helmet is not designed to withstand this level of crush or stud injury.* What could have been a much worse injury wasn’t just prevented because she wore a helmet, but because she wore THE RIGHT helmet. You only get one head and one brain, protect it with the best. All Charles Owen helmets are made in Britain and tested in our in-house testing facility. Please share this post to protect your fellow riders from a future fatal accident and to raise awareness of the importance of the ‘PAS 015’ standard. Laura wore an Ayr8 on the day of her accident and is remarkably already back competing today. *SNELL safety standard also provides a very high level of protection for crush and stud injuries, you can find this in our 4STAR helmet. VG1 & ASTM do also provide a level of protection but not to the same level as PAS 015.

The Riderless Horse: one of the oldest and most moving military traditions in a full honor funeral is the riderless, caparisoned horse. The horse is led behind ...the caisson wearing an empty saddle with the rider’s boots reversed in the stirrups, indicating the warrior will never ride again. Join us this Memorial Day weekend to remember the heroes we have lost and the families they leave behind. Camelot Events Update May Horse Shows Cancelled To Our Valued Exhibitors, Vendors, and Sponsors,... Due to the uncertainty of the California State and County guidelines regarding COVID-19, we feel we must cancel our May horse shows at the LA Equestrian Center: The Camelot Spring Festival I, May 2 3 and the The Camelot Spring Festival II, May 9 10 . We hope to see you in June for the Camelot June Show at Paddock Riding Club on June 7. We are hoping that restrictions will be lifted by then, and with proper procedures in place we will be able to enjoy horse shows in our new normal environment. The IEA - Interscholastic Equestrian Association Board of Directors and Staff have been extensively reviewing factors and options related to Covid-19 and the re...mainder of the IEA 2019-2020 season. With much disappointment, we announce all IEA competitions for Hunt Seat, Dressage and Western disciplines are cancelled for the remainder of this competition year, which was originally scheduled to conclude on June 14th. Dear SFHJA Members, Due to the unfortunate circumstances regarding the COVID-19 outbreak, SFHJA has made the decision to abide by USEF’s suggestion announced th...is week. Effective Monday, March, 16, 2020, all USEF owned events, selection trials, training camps, clinics, and activities will be suspended for the next 30 days. Additionally, USEF strongly recommends that competition organizers suspend all USEF licensed competitions across the country for the next 30 days and that equestrians do not compete for the next 30 days. For those competitions that do run, there will be no accumulation of points, scores, money won, qualifications, or rankings toward any USEF awards program, USEF owned event, or selection to a US team during this 30-day time period. This includes USEF National Championships. In order to comply with USEF’s suggestion and put the well-being of our members and their horses first, any SFHJA rated competitions held during this 30-day period will not include any accumulation of points, qualifications, or rankings toward any SFHJA awards programs or medal finals. Affected SFHJA-Rated Competitions: March 22 - Paddock March Madness - Paddock Riding Club April 3 - 5 - Gold Coast April - LAEC April 10 - 11 - Verdugo Hills April - LAEC SFHJA will continue to monitor the situation and will continue to keep our members updated as new information is available.
