We are thrilled and thankfull to announce that Miss Laura is now fully vaccinated, and Miss Maryn and Miss Kyleigh have both received their first of two shots. By the end of April, all FDA instructors will be fully vaccinated. We do this not only to protect our own health and the health of our loved ones but to protect our students and their families. CDC data suggests that vaccinated individuals do not transmit the coronavirus. We have kept dancing since the onset of the pandemic while following health and safety protocols and have managed to keep our students and their families safe. We now look forward to the opportunities that await us in the future: June performance, July Summer Dance Intensive, Fall Dance Auditions, and a return to dance conventions and competitions!

The current class schedule that is posted the studio website will resume once Humboldt County has returned to the red tier. New students may still enroll so they are ready to begin at that time. Zoom class options are available. Just contact the studio for information. Be safe and be well and hopefully we can move back to red in 2 weeks. Who knew that we would yearn for the days of yellow?!

So that all of our students are better prepared for acting on screen, which will be incorporated into our spring recorded performance, we highly recommend our upcoming Screen Acting Workshop to be taught once again by the wonderful Lisa Rudin. For all of you who saw Mahayla shine as Clara in the recording of Our Nutcracker, she participated in both of Lisa's fall drama workshops. Enrolling today!

Hooray! Classes are able to begin back inside at the dance studio on Monday. We are still excepting new students as long as there is room in a class. Our studio COVID-19 protection policy remains in place and has served us well. It is of the utmost importance to us that all of our students, FDA families, and staff remain safe and healthy. We recognize that part of that is the physical, emotional, and social well being that comes from dancing together, and so we are so thankful to have this opportunity to begin again indoors. Happy New Year!

Well we made it! The entire year of 2020 we only had to cancel two days of class and that was the last week due to rain/cold/wind and dancing outside Miss Maryn only needed a substitute one day in the spring while we were on Zoom, and Miss Kyleigh only had to reschedule two classes. With everything we have had to contend with, I think this is a remarkable accomplishment and is important to recognize. Thank you so much to my talented, resilient, creative, kind, and playful f...ellow instructors, Maryn and Kyleigh. Thank you to Lisa Rudin and Melissa Hinz for bringing your talents, experience, enthusiasm, and knowledge to share with FDA students. Thank you to Fusion Dance Project for teaching master classes and for providing Miss Maryn with such an excellent opportunity to further her development as a tap dancer and instructor; learning and skills that she can now share with her students. Thank you to FDA families and students who have been especially helpful, kind, supportive, and loving to each other and their instructors this season. We wish all of you joy and happiness this holiday season and may 2021 be a bit gentler on us all! I have included a couple of my favorite photos from dancing outside. Even the next door cat joined us! On a side note, classes for our next season are filling up fast. We will accept students into classes as long as there is room so just give us a jingle if you need further information on classes.
