Why do I need to get vaccinated every year? Because flu viruses evolve so quickly, last year's vaccine may not protect you from this year's viruses. New flu vaccines are released every year to keep up with rapidly adapting flu viruses. When you get vaccinated, your immune system produces antibodies to protect you from the viruses included in the vaccine. But antibody levels may decline over time another reason to get a flu shot every year.... Call 661.587.8990 to schedule your appointment today!

The average person needs to eat about 2,000 calories every day to maintain their weight. However, a person's specific daily calorie intake can vary depending on their age, gender, and physical activity level. Men generally need more calories than women, and people who exercise need more calories than people who don't. Make sure to 'FIND THE BALANCE IN HEALTHY EATING!'

Here are some prevention measures you can take to avoid contracting any virus: 1) Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. 2) Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands. 3) Get a flu shot (for everyone six months and older).... 4) Avoid close contact with people who are sick. 5) Stay home when you are sick. 6) Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. 7) Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces. Our doctors at Farr Medical Group know best!
