The Historic Union Cemetery sits alongside Woodside Road in Redwood City, CA, right in the middle of the San Francisco Peninsula. This was a Wild West town that grew along with the gold rush, and some of the pioneers that showed up here were former Union Army Veterans. They had an organization called The Grand Army Of The Republic that promoted veteran affairs and helped turn the area's first cemetery into a memorial to Civil War Union veterans. Many prominent people lay at r...est here, with some graves adorn with beautiful monuments. From wild west's Sheriff's Deputies to County Judges, this was the first cemetery listed as a California landmark. https://youtu.be/FatZy07jsBQ See more
