We will be hosting a parent presentation tomorrow, November 8 at 5:30 in the auditorium followed by our first annual Star Party at 6:30. The book fair will also be open from 5-7. We hope to see lots of families at Farb tomorrow night!

Good evening Farb Families! Here is this week's Sunday Update! I first want to remind everyone that clocks turned back one hour today for Daylight Saving Time! Also, PTO will have the Book Fair open all week before school, Lunch, and after school. It will also be open Wednesday night during the Rachel's Challenge presentation and Star Party.... Monday 11:00 Earthquake Drill 4:00 After school there is Math Lab, Writing Lab, and ASB 4:30 Serra Cluster Meeting at Serra HS in the Library Tuesday All students will see the Rachel's Challenge Assembly today. A flyer went home Friday with information. The assembly is aimed at reducing bullying and spreading kindness. It is an emotional assembly and students may experience many emotions during the assembly. However, we feel it is worthwhile and very powerful. I encourage parents to talk with their student Tuesday night about the assembly and come Wednesday to see the parent presentation. Good evening Farb Families! Here is this week's Sunday Update. I would like to remind everyone that tomorrow is the last day to turn in Box Tops to your advisory teacher. Also, this week is ASB Spirit Week, so be sure to listen to each day to see what the theme is for the day.... Monday Monday is Pajama day! Students may wear their appropriate PJ's to school. Students will still need to change to for PE and have appropriate shoes for PE. Monday we have the 5th graders from Vista Grande visiting our school. The advance band will be performing for the students and ASB and AVID club will be giving tours. After school there is Math Lab, Writing Lab, and ASB Tuesday Tuesday is Halloween and students may wear their costumes to school. Please note that students may not wear masks that cover their face, bring any type of fake weapon to school, and the costume must be appropriate for middle school. During lunch students will be able to walk through the ASB Haunted House. ALL after school activities are cancelled and there is NO late bus because of Halloween. Wednesday Wednesday is sports day! After school there is Math Lab, Writing Lab, and Martial Arts Thursday Thursday is Crazy Hair Day. We are having our annual 5th grade parent night from 6-7 pm in the auditorium. If you know any families with 5th graders that live in Murphy Canyon or Tierrasanta, please encourage them to attend our informational meeting. Friday Friday is Pink Day in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The AVID club is also having their Annual Think Pink Run during the PE Classes. Students who want to participate can pick up a sponsor sheet from Mrs. Rankin in room 32. We are also hosting our first Muffin's with Moms this Friday starting at 8:30 in the library. Mom's can come have coffee and muffins and spend time with their student before school starts. A flyer will be coming home on Monday. Saturday, November 4th is our next Saturday School. Students must sign up by Wednesday to attend. It is 8-12 at Farb. Looking Ahead: The PTO Book Fair is from November 6-10 in the library November 7 is our Rachel's Challenge Kick Off Assemblies November 8 is our first Star Party and Parent viewing of the book fair. ASB, Yearbook, Math Lab, Writing Lab, and Art Club are after school Wednesday: New Student Orientation is during period 5. Math Lab, Writing Lab, and Martial Arts are after school Thursday: Thursday is a minimum day... Friday: End of the first 6 week grading period. Grades will be send home on Wednesday October 18. Looking Ahead: Parent Conferences are on October 25 and 26 from 2:45-5:00. Advisory Awards are on October 27 at 8:30 am. Remember the Choice window is open until November 13. Good evening Farb Families! Here is this week's Sunday Update. Monday: ASB is kicking off Anti-Bully Month with a week of respect! On Monday the band will be playing before school and students are encouraged to give other students a high five and words of encouragement. Students can turn in fundraising money before school in room 55. At lunch ASB will have the prize wheel out for students who sold items. There is also Math and Writing Lab after school. The Choice Applic...ation window opens today. Tuesday: ASB will have Anti-bully games and music before school. There is Math and Writing Lab after school. The Art Club begins today from 4-5 after school in room 35. Wednesday: Students are encouraged to write a thank you letter to someone on campus before school. ASB will also be collecting fundraising money before school in room 55. There is Math Lab, Writing Lab, and Martial Arts after school. There is a parent meeting for any 8th grader who is interested in attending the Washington DC trip at the end of the school year. The meeting is at 5:30 in the library. Thursday: ASB will have Anti-bully games and music before school. JS2S at Lunch for all grades. Thursday is also Picture Make up Day for anyone who was absent on picture day. Friday: ASB will conclude week of respect with games and music at Lunch. ASB will also be collecting fundraising money before school in room 55. Saturday: Saturday is our first Saturday School of the year, as all work is due on October 13 for the first grade reporting period. Students must sign up in the front office by Wednesday to attend. Saturday school is from 8 am to 12 noon. Students must arrive on time as doors close at 8:05 and must stay the entire time. Students must bring work to complete. There will be two teachers available to help students as needed. ASB Fundraiser update: ASB will be collecting fundraiser money on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week. They will be passing our prized during lunch all week long. The final day to submit money and and orders is October 10. October is Box Top month. PTO is collecting box tops all month. Please submit you box tops to your advisory teacher with you name on them and PTO will be giving prizes to the student who turns in the most. Tuesday: ASB will be having their kick off fall fundraising assemblies for all students. SSC is after school from 4-5. There is a late bus and math lab and writing lab is from 4-5.... Wednesday: I am hosting a new parent coffee from 9:00-9:30 in the library. Afterschool there is math lab, writing lab, and martial arts starts in B5. There is a late bus. Thursday: Is a minimum day Friday: Is Dad's Luncheon. Dad's bring a lunch or they can purchase one at the school cafeteria and we provide cookies and a drink. Please return the the RSVP form is you are planning on attending. 6th Grade lunch is from 11:45-12:20 and 7th and 8th grade is from 12:20-12:55. Good evening Farb Families! Here is this week's Sunday Update. Monday: Late bus begins on Monday and leaves at 4:00. Math lab in room 25 afterschool from 4-5 and the Writing Center is open in room 33 from 4-5. Tuesday: Tuesday is picture day! Flyers were sent home last week. Every student will have their picture taken for the yearbook and their ID. If parents want to purchase pictures, the money must be returned on Tuesday. Late bus and leaves at 4:00. Math lab is in... room 25 afterschool from 4-5 and the Writing Center is open in room 33 from 4-5. Wednesday: Late bus and leaves at 4:00. A flyer will be coming home Monday with the schedule. I hope all parents can attend as it is important that parents understand the expectations for each class. Friday: We will be having a bus assembly for our bus riders. They will be bringing home bus agreements that must be sign by both parents and students and returned on Monday so they can receive their official bus pass. Friday is also the Middle School Band night at Serra HS's football game. Looking Ahead: Dad's Luncheon is next Friday September 29. A flyer will be coming home this week with information. Finally, I would like to encourage our parents to talk with their students about gossiping and spreading rumors. We have had a few issues in the past 2 weeks because students,especially the girls, were spreading information that was not their business and not completely true. Monday: Monday will be our first school wide binder check, so students should make sure that their planner is filled in and all papers are filed neatly into their binder. Please remember that students must have the school binder. Also, on Monday the 6th graders will begin to rotate their PE with their Elective. Monday is an A Day. Tuesday: Tuesday is a B day... Wednesday: Wednesday is an A day Thursday: We are having assemblies to introduce the students to the district's drug enforcement dog, Blitz. Thursday is also a minimum day and an B day. Friday: Friday is an A day. Looking ahead: Late buses will begin next week along with ASB afterschool, Math Lab, and writing Lab from 4-5 on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays. Good evening Farb Families! Here is this week's Sunday Update. Monday: No School in honor of Labor Day Tuesday: Textbooks will be distributed through math classes. Mrs. Feiteira's math classes, all 8th graders and Mrs. Aldridge's period 2 7th graders will be bringing their text books home. Wednesday: We will be having a fire drill in the morning. Mr. Myers math classes, Miss Aldridge's 6th grade math class, Mr. Weeden's math classes and the rest of the 7th graders will b...e bringing their textbooks home. Thursday: Reminder that every Thursday is a minimum day and school is out at 2:30. Looking ahead: Picture day is September 19 and Back to School Night is September 21 at 5:30. A few reminders: Please remember to return your first day packets if you have not already done so. Also, if your student rides their bike, scooter, or skateboard to school please reminder them to NOT ride on campus or the landbridge. In addition, I ask that all students and parents are careful in the youth center parking lot.
