Teacher Marisela voted early with family this year! She hopes to pass down this legacy to her children, she says, My Family and I voted in person and early this year. It has become a tradition to vote as a family and every time our group grows larger. It has become so important to me to set a good example to my boys and talk to them about current political events. When their time comes to cast their ballot and make a difference, they will have the support of their family. I voted for my family! I voted for those who can not vote! I voted to make a difference! Every vote counts! #fflcvotes

#FFLCVotes Teacher Susana says, I vote for.... my nieces, my nephews, my future children and for all those who cannot vote, I vote for a better future for all. Voting is our civic right that generations before us have fought hard for, it is important for us to exercise this right.

With the election just about 10 days away, Teachers and Staff would like to begin sharing why they vote. Tell us why you vote and hashtag: #FFLCVotes. Teacher Veronica says, I vote because.... it’s important to practice using your voice and advocate for past and future generations . I’m a proud daughter of Mexican immigrants and I believe the youth deserve adults that fight for a world that is healthier and more just than the one we live in today.

Support a family in need and help provide a wonderful holiday experience! Families Forward Learning Center invites you to Adopt-a-Family! We know that families will be needing extra support during this difficult time. With COVID-19 in mind, we will be taking safety precautions upon delivery of gifts and pick-up. Last year we were able to support 116 families, that is all of our families enrolled at the time, through this program!... You can make a difference this holiday season by participating in our Adopt-A-Family program. You will simply select a family size, receive a brief bio and wishlist of your family, inclusive of a family meal, put together a gift basket, and drop it off at on-site at 980 N. Fair Oaks Ave. Pasadena, CA 91103. For more information, and to families interested in signing up, please contact Liz Kwong at [email protected] or Veronica at [email protected]

You might be curious about why the census is important. 2020census.gov explains, The 2020 Census will determine congressional representation, inform hundreds of billions in federal funding every year, and provide data that will impact communities for the next decade. Additionally, the census affects day-to-day things such as accessibility to school lunches, plans for highways, support for firefighters and families in need. As reported by CBSLA, Residents can respond to the... census online until 2:59 a.m. PST on Friday, Oct. 16. Responses to the census are still being accepted, however. Paper census responses must be postmarked by Oct. 15, and people can also phone in their census responses between 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. PST by calling 844-330-2020. Non-English speakers can also respond to the #census in their native languages at the phone numbers found on the 2020census.gov website. Wishing you well today and always! #becounted See more
