Mary Jo Bacik gave another Study Group class to interested Fallbrook Garden Club members on herbs. That's Mary Jo hidden behind her mask and ball cap "showing off" her beautiful winter garden including broccoli and red chard. There is so much to talk about that she has had to break the herbs discussion into several meetings. Check the monthly newsletter, The Garden Chirp, or FGC’s website for the next meeting. Fallbrook Garden Club invites all members to join in on Zoom to welcome Nan Sterman as our January Guest Speaker. Nan Sterman, who has a background in biology, understands what it takes to complement plants in unique landscape designs. She practices water-wise techniques, recommending plants given the existing soil and environmental conditions. Nan's busy schedule includes giving presentations; writing articles for publication, including two ongoing columns in the San Diego... Union-Tribune; and hosting her award-winning TV show, "A Growing Passion." As Nan encourages us: "Follow her on a path everywhere plants grow." There is no limit as to where Nan will take us. Traveling through town, you may notice a few spooky visitors. Don’t despair, for these visitors are scarecrows that come out every October for Fallbrook Scarecrow Days. The scarecrows are dressed up to add a little festivity all along Main Ave. This year Fallbrook Garden Club member Patricia Vasquez has dressed "Mabel" as Mabel the Fortuneteller. Mabel planted herself in The Jewelry Connection window at 101 N. Main Ave., on Main Ave and Alvarado's corner. There you will... see her looking into the future as she gazes into her crystal ball.
