Do you know this female lost kitty? It came in late yesterday. We don’t have the location found just yet.

Pets love unconditionally; they make us better people and they help us heal. Congratulations to First Dogs-Elect, Champ Biden and Major Biden. May your presence in the White House inspire people across the world to open their hearts and their homes to a shelter pet.

Fiona: Home to Home Post: Fiona is not quite 2 yrs old, shy but playful, and loves attention and snuggles. She is an indoor cat and has never been outside. Once you've earned her trust, she will stick close to your side, often following you around the house everywhere you go. She is quite vocal and has a wide variety of expressive purrs that sound almost human at times! Fiona is a sweetheart once you've earned her trust. If you are interested in learning more about Fiona, please visit her profile on Home to Home by clicking next to her photo. Fill out the "Contact the Owner" form if you would like to adopt Fiona, to communicate directly with Fiona's owner.

*** GOOD NEWS UPDATE: Our Adoptions Team is in the process of reviewing the over 30 applications that have come in for these two wonderful pups, so we are currently not accepting new applications. Be sure to check back for updates. Thank You to our community for helping us find forever homes for all of our adoptable pets. *** Meet two of our newest pups, Poncho and Kookie! Kookie is a shy Papillon mix looking for a forever home with someone who loves little dogs! She has a d...ark curly coat, soft floppy ears and a fantastic underbite. Her foster mom says she made great progress in learning to trust her in just a couple of days, though loud noises and other surprises still make her a little jumpy. She’s already learned how to use a carrier, and she can alert you when she needs to use the outdoor facilities. She goes nuts for walks and loves being rubbed with a towel! She’s a good guard dog; she’ll let you know when your Amazon package has arrived. But when you're on a Zoom meeting she’ll sit quietly by your side. That's where she’s happiest - just being next to you all day, whatever you're doing. Poncho is a sweet, friendly CorgieJack Russell terrier mix puppy. He likes long walks, sitting in laps, kissing your face, napping next to you, sniffing out treats in your hand, playing for as long and as rough as you want! Cats are a question mark, but he should get along with other dogs! Apply to meet one of these great pups! https://www.alamedaanimalshelter.org//canine-adoption-appl

Could you use a gentle friend who wants nothing more than to be by your side? 10-year-old Daniel is seeking an all-adult family with no other pets. Daniel is a sweet guy who loves people. Nothing would make him happier than keeping you company all day, whether going for a stroll or curling up next to you. He cannot hear or see very well, but he quickly learns his way around new environments. Bonus: If you are at least 62, there is no adoption fee! Fill out an application to take this good boy home on a trial adoption!: https://www.alamedaanimalshelter.org//canine-adoption-appl

Lost Pet Alert: KODAMA (Berkeley) is a 14 yr. old black and white Tuxedo cat lost 10/28 in the City of Berkeley near Virginia and Curtis Streets. Kodama has been an indoor cat his entire life and is unfortunately declawed (not by the current owner, please be kind), so it is critical that he returns home! Kodama is not chipped, but he is wearing a black & white checkered collar with a bow-tie, bell, and name tag. He also has a distinct diamond-shaped black spot on his nose. His owner is terribly worried, and hasn't slept since he's been gone. If you've seen Kodama, please call Justin at (814) 440-1200. Please post and share to help find Kodama!

Myrtle: Home to Home Post: Myrtle is very sweet and chill and adapts to your level of socializing and cuddling (the more attentive, the more she "velcros" to you). She has been an indoor/outdoor cat with us, but I'm sure she would be cool with staying indoors if that's preferred. She's not a picky eater whatsoever and happily eats any kibble you put in front of her and uses the litter box in the basement with no problems. She's a quiet cat and really only meows when she's stuck somewhere or sometimes in the morning for food. We think Myrtle is about 5 years old. If you want to adopt Myrtle, click on her photo to see her full profile on Home to Home. Fill out the "Contact the Owner" form to communicate directly with her owner about adoption.

Every great event deserves a sequel! Our summer online auction was such a success thanks to you, raising thousands of dollars for the homeless pets of Alameda, that we’re doing it again. Mark your calendar for Wine, Whiskers & Wags: Holiday Edition, 9AM-9PM, Saturday, December 5! URL to come... For this online event, in light of the struggles faced by California businesses due to the pandemic followed by unprecedented wildfires, the auction committee is asking individual FAA...S supporters for help. Can you donate an auction item? In particular, we need fine wines, liqueurs, beers and spirits, and wine-tasting gift certificates to area wineries. Also appreciated would be hand-crafted items appropriate for holiday gifts; small plants in attractive pots; pet-themed gifts; holiday goodie baskets; adventures and experiences; Zoom classes; and gift certificates to Alameda restaurants to go into our signature Taste of Alameda gift basket. The proceeds from this event will be split between FAAS and one of the animal shelters affected by the 2020 fires, the Sonoma County Humane Society. For more information, including donation pickup and drop-off arrangements, please email [email protected] and [email protected]. Thank you!
