They don’t make them better than Jack the Studio Dog. He is a rescue from Mexico and has had at least 9 lives and I how a few more - Blind in one eye, mostly blind in the other. Malnutrition, Crushed hip joint, kidney failure, old dog vestibular disease, multiple dog attacks, a raccoon attack, tail shut in car door, and cute, cute, cute and grateful, happy and playful. We celebrated 12 years together last week! One of my big loves in my life! Happy Dog Day, One Eyed Jack.

Day 66 of 1000 Days of Racial Justice: This story of my side of busing in Connecticut in 1966 or 67 has been an important moment all my life. I have wanted to do a page in my journal for it but couldn’t quite figure it out. I did some research and found an article about a passionate woman who wanted inner city kids to get a better education and the story in my memory bank met the story in the news. My 7 year old ended up being this little girls inner child. After finishing it I went and screamed at the injustice in this world, I was not well behaved. Then watched the John Lewis Good Trouble documentary, it was a 3 Kleenex emotional ride that restored by belief in humans and doing goo...d. Who will be our new hero? Day 42 of 1000 Days of Racial Justice Action: Created a page in my journal today at Art Church looking at my White Privilege. My list is long. I posted it in the front window of the studio with my commitment to use that privilege toward change. Today that is my one small action. I feel embarrassed to say how that one small thing feels so big. My fears of not doing it right. And, I did it anyway.
