With over 200 students, faculty staff, and visitors in attendance, ESS debate on the morality of Capitalism was a great success. The event took place last November 11/13/2014 at the CSUF Titan Student Union. Thank you all who contributed to the success of the event, especially the Philosophy Club, the Philosophy Department, the ARI, and Phi Beta Delta for their collaboration and contribution.
The 2015 Southwest Oral History Association annual conference will be held on March 19th thru 21st in Del Mar, CA. Dr. Paul Ortiz, President of the Oral History Association and Director of the Samuel Proctor Oral History Program at the University of Florida will be the keynote speaker. ESS encourages all students and alumni to attend; it’s a great experience for all interested in learning about ongoing public history programs. ESS cordially invites students, faculty, and community to attend a debate about the morality of Capitalism on Thursday Nov. 13th at 6PM in the Titan Student Union Pavilion A. Featured speakers are Don Watkins professional speaker & fellow at the Ayn Rand Institute and Douglas Kellner, author, theorist & Chair in the Philosophy of Education at UCLA. Topics such as the welfare state and media culture will be debated on a moral scale. We hope to see many of you there!

Join ESS for a symposium event to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall on Monday, Nov. 3rd at 1:00PM @ the Nixon Presidential Library & Museum. Speakers include US Congressman Ed Royce, Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and Dr. Russell Dalton from UC Irvine. We will have a private tour to see a piece of the Berlin wall housed in the museum and access to a special Cold War documents from the archives.
