Working on a surf fishing striper derby. The idea comes from the halibut derby in Homer Alaska. The idea would be a monthly and a year winner. Cost would be 30 per month(every month would be an optional buy in). 50% would go to the monthly winner and the other half would be rolled over to the years largest fish. In Homer Alaska their derby reached to over $50,000. The rules would be simple. You can enter anytime but not enter a fish until 48 hours after the payment was made. ...Second, the fish must be caught in the surf and weighed at the tackle shop. I would keep a monthly count of largest fish caught and the jackpot total would be posted everyday or two. The last thing I would ask is that any fish that is not an upgrade of the winning fish please be released. I kept these stripers up here quite for about 20 years before they started to become more abundant. Any ideas See more
