An easy way to save water outside is to adjust your lawn mower to cut between 1.5-2 inches tall. This will help save water because taller grass holds soil moisture better than short grass. #SaveWater#WaterSavings #Lawn #LawnCare

From our family to yours, we wish you a warm and festive holiday season! In observance of the holiday our office will be closed Dec. 24 & 25.
Avoid clogged drains and #plumbing disasters this #holiday season by making sure the only things being flushed are the 3 P's (pee, poop, toilet paper flushable wipes are NOT flushable). Learn more: https://www.eocwd.com//customers-urged-not-to-flush-disinf
Happy first day of #winter. Remember to turn off your sprinklers and conserve water while nature lends a helping hand!
Make use of rainwater. Water collected in rain barrels can help prevent storm runoff and be used at a later time to water outdoor plants. They’re low cost, low maintenance, and help the environment and water supply.Visit our website for some rebates: https://www.eocwd.com/rebates-programs
#DidYouKnow that easy-to-fix water leaks account for nearly 1 trillion gallons of water wasted each year in U.S. homes? In fact, the average household leaks nearly 10,000 gallons of water per year, or the amount of... water it takes to wash 300 loads of laundry, and could be costing you an extra 10 percent on your water bills. In just 10 minutes, you can search your home for leaks and crack down on water waste. Many common household leaks are quick to find and easy to fix. Worn toilet flappers, dripping faucets, and leaking showerheads all are easily correctable and can save on your utility bill expenses and water in your community. So put on your detective hat, lace up your running shoes, and take this 10-minute challenge to detect and chase down leaks! www.epa.gov/watersense/fix-leak-week See more
Happy Veteran's Day.
In the event of a catastrophic leak, knowing the location of your property shut-off valve could save you money on water and water damage repairs. The faster you can turn off the water, the less goes to waste. #watersavingtip
Showering is one of the leading ways we use water in the home, accounting for nearly 17 percent of indoor water usefor the average family, that adds up to nearly 40 gallons per day*. That's nearly 1.2 trillion gallons of water used in the United States annually just for showering! You can conserve water and save money on your monthly water bill by installing low-flow showerheads. Look for the #WaterSense label *According to the EPA
Now that we are into fall, don't forget to adjust your lawn and plant watering frequency to make sure you are being the most efficient.
Here are a few tips for taking care of spills and splatters without putting any fats, oils or grease (F.O.G) down the drain: Sprinkle flour over the oil/grease for easier disposal. Keep a spray bottle of vinegar in your kitchen. Vinegar’s natural acidity makes it a great all-purpose cleaner. If vinegar isn’t enough, use a little baking soda too. The foaming action of the two ingredients makes it twice as effective!
When in doubt, don’t. Refrain from making or confirming any payments to suspicious parties via phone, email or even in person. The only time you should make a payment to us is if it is through a verified method by us. #utilityscamawareness
