Ashenafi is from south Ethiopia. In 2012, he sustained a terrible flame burn injury after his small shop was put on fire. For 3.5 years, this young man of 19 was moved from one hospital to another. He was admitted to Dr. Erikson's burn clinic in November 2014 where he was fed a high caloric diet for 2 weeks before the first surgery. Ashenafi had been bedridden for more than 3 years and was thin and emaciated. Six weeks after admission with 3 skin graft procedures, Ashenafi was up moving and smiling. http://www.entoto.org/

Sixteen-year-old Bonu Ugo got a flame burn during early childhood. Three of the fingers contracted on his right hand. Although the remaining two fingers were not directly involved, both of them got contracted as well due to lack of normal use. Bonu was operated on in November 2014 at Dr. Erikson's burn unit in Addis Ababa. After several weeks of physiotherapy/hand therapy, he could finally return to his home in south Ethiopia. As he left the burn unit, he said, " I am so pleased and thankful, now I can greet (shake hands) with people in a normal way." http://www.entoto.org/
