I started praying for my future husband when I was 12. I met him when I was 21 in Santa Barbara. After we started dating, we realized that our lives had been interestingly intertwined in the years leading up to our meeting and while our paths were close, It wasn’t God’s timing for us to meet then. He & his parents moved to my hometown from AZ when I was in High School. My cross country teammates and I used to run hill repeats up Castle Hill. We’d stop and rest at the top...turns out that was my future in-laws driveway. Kevin has only been to the ER once & over dinner at the Blue Agave with my uncle Ken, Kevin realized that it was Ken who treated him several years prior and saved his life (a little dramatic, but that’s how Kevin tells the story!). Kevin started his first company when he was 21 and his office was right next to my best friend’s mom’s nail salon, where I frequently hung out. Kevin worked at Bank of America and I worked at a bakery during the same time in the same shopping center. We frequented many of the same restaurants & businesses. I wonder if we ever made eye contact or if I maybe was even saying one of my prayers for him when we were right near each other during those years. I like to think my years of praying for this mystery guy keep him safe and prepared our hearts our lifetime together. Today is our 20 year wedding anniversary and I’m so thankful for him & our life together. See more
