We teamed up with @patagonia & @amigosmarinos to donate about 100 of our tired wetsuits to dive fisherman in Baja to help restore ocean resources. This project was inspired by time spent with the El Manglito dive fishers of La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico. This community of fishermen have collectively organized with the help of the non-governmental organization NOS Noroeste Sustentable A.C.to restore the scallop population of a historically abundant fishing ground --the Ensenada de La Paz. This effort not only provides fishermen with gear to continue their restoration efforts, but it also relieves the financial burden of paying inflated prices for work gear. The money used to buy wetsuits can now be repurposed to support their families.Check out their site, to learn more about their awesome story!

Surf Camp Registration is on a first-come-first-serve basis! GET your spot on the waitlist NOW! The City of Newport Beach Recreation is placing everyone onto a waitlist for our camps... and will eventually let in only a certain number of students each week, if & when we’re allowed to open back up. Those on the beginning of the waitlist will be let in first. If we have to cancel due to covid19, you will receive a refund. So if you’re interested in joining our surf camps this Summer, there’s nothing to loose by putting yourself on the waitlist now before it’s too late. We also hope to open for private lessons soon! Our Summer Camps are set to start June 15. We are working closely with both the City of NB & our state guidelines to develop a way to open up safely. This may effect class sizes. If you’d like to secure your spot, you can register for camps and/or lessons now on our website. Our early bird discount has also been extended through 5/26, which is further incentive to register soon. We will hopefully be opening for private lessons soon as well, but have not been given the green light just yet. If we need to cancel camp or lessons due to covid19, you will receive a refund for the time you did not receive. We will keep you posted as we learn more! Any Gift Certificate purchased this month will go towards supporting the Feeding America Covid-19 Response Fund @feedingamerica ... we’re also offering special gift certificates to healthcare workers right now. These gift certificates can be used anytime, once we open back up in the future. Since we can’t teach you how to surf at the moment, we’ve been scratching our heads on how we can help serve those most in need!

We are NOT offering private lessons, now through March 31. The health and well being of our teachers, staff and students, as well as that of our local communities, is paramount and for that reason we have to make the decision to temporarily close down ALL of our lessons (even 1:1). We realize that this is an inconvenience and is disappointing news, but it is imperative that we do everything we can to protect our teachers, staff, and you - our students at this time. This is an... act of solidarity, and it’s NOT at all the easy way out for us, a small business!
