Hello EMNLL families. Hope all is well. At this point, neither the state or local Los Angeles County Public Health have lifted the public health order for the use of youth team sports like baseball fields and baseball practice in parks, public and private sports fields. In preparation, LA County Parks convened over 70 countywide park city/agencies, including the City of El Monte, to discuss coordination and developing re-opening plans for park amenities that could be consistent amongst cities/park agencies (countywide). This includes consideration of public health restrictions, maintenance and monitoring protocols. Hello EMNLL families. Hope you and your loved ones are safe, healthy and well. Like many of you, we are looking for the day when we can come back to Lambert Park and play baseball. As of this time, we are not cleared to resume the season. We are looking to LA County Public Health and the City of El Monte to provide us guidance before we make a decision to resume or cancel the season. Many other youth sports leagues are in the same predicament and for EMNLL the health of our youth and families continues to be our number one priority. Either way, we will let you know by no later than mid-June what the status of the season will be. MESSAGE FROM LITTLE LEAGUE: UPDATE AS OF MARCH 16, 2020: This is much bigger than Little League. The COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic is rapidly changing the way that we, as global citizens, think, act, gather, learn, and live our daily lives. And, yes, that also means how we play Little League. With the most recent guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Little League International Board of Directors and staff is now strongly advising all its... local Little League programs to suspend/delay their Little League seasons through no earlier than Monday, May 11. We implore you to follow this recommendation and suspend all Little League activities through no earlier than May 11. We recognize that this is the heart of the traditional Little League season, and we share in the great disappointment that many are feeling surrounding this additional pause in the 2020 season. However, it is our hope that by doing this, we will all play a small, but important part in flattening the curve in the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. The EMNLL Board will keep everyone posted. Little League has Officially Postponed All League Activities until April 6th. That means no games until further notice. Please be assured we will keep everyone posted. As news on the COVID-19 coronavirus are made available by local & state health officials, we are taking informed steps to ensure our league’s well-being. There are a number of concrete steps we can take now to limit community-wide spread (please see the flier above). We encourage you to be vigilant about your knowledge on this health ...issue. Information available through the LA County Department of Public Health provides both timely & local information that we are monitoring regularly. What we are sharing reflects best advice we are receiving from our local & state public health officials.
