We encourage caregivers to approach each child with a sense of ‘wonder’ rather than a sense of ‘knowing’. This creates a paradigm shift and broadens their perspective, allowing a deeper understanding of the child. The children were showing me it was time to switch out materials. Did they verbally say it? No. However their lack of interest was beyond apparent and who’s ‘fault’ is that? I spent last night cleaning and creating new materials. Yes, I was up later than I should have been (benefit of having it at your house ). Having a fresh environment made for a amazing Tuesday! I love the never ending possibilities in Montessori. The open ended experiences, the perpetual discove...ries, the relationships made between children as they navigate the social constructs of their community. The natural need for things to evolve happens at home or any program whatever philosophy. Great day with fellow minded people at the annual RIE conference in Los Angeles. Saw old friends, mentors and classmates. Many things were reaffirmed along with provoking thoughts. Keynote speaker Tina Bryson @tinapaynebryson was inspiring, motivating and by the way hilarious.
