Yesterday, the state of California unveiled a new reopening plan but mention of any gathering or event guidelines. The timing is ironical as we head ...into Labor Day weekend. Remember that federal holiday created to honor America’s labor? The long weekend to celebrate the end of summer with double header weddings, parties and parades? Who’s going to help you celebrate on the other side of this? Some of us are risking misdemeanor charges by producing events without social distancing precautions and safety. ALL OF US collectively are going to get hurt with bad PR if these unlawful gatherings result in outbreaks pushing us further back for reopening. We need a plan. On behalf of everyone in the live events industry - the venues, hotels, concert tours, planners, designers, florists, caterers, live musicians, hair & makeup artists, DJs, AV technicians, transportation & valet, rental companies, and so many more to list - we need to work together, TAKE ACTION and make our voices HEARD. ? On SEPTEMBER 1, join a nationwide campaign to light our buildings red and signal a RED ALERT to our community and government officials. ’ : - SHARE this with other businesses or individuals who may want to participate and any media connections you have.
