I had the chance to check out @the_eldo brunch menu last weekend with some friends. We got the ribeye & eggs, filet mignon benedict, salmon benedict, country breakfast, and hatch chile chilaquiles. Firstly, the ribeye and eggsthey are apparently the best ribeye in Long Beach, so having it for breakfast is a real treat! The ribeye is perfectly cooked and seasoned all the way through. Secondly, is the filet mignon benedict which is my favorite of the batch. The filet itself is just as well seasoned as the ribeye, however, it comes with the usual trappings of an eggs benedict. The bright hollandaise, creamy egg yolk, and pillowy English muffin perfectly accompanied the juicy filet. The salmon benedict is the same except with poached salmon as the protein, I liked it however the filet was definitely the winner. Next, is the country breakfast which is comprised of hand-breaded fried chicken, house sausage gravy, two homemade biscuits, two eggs, and breakfast potatoes. The fried chicken was crispy and moist, the biscuits were flaky and buttery, and they were both covered with the deliciously savory gravy. The potatoes were crispy, well-seasoned, and straight-up dank as well. Lastly, are the chilaquiles which do carry a bit of heat, but are incredibly delicious. The chips have been drenched in a hatch chile sauce which provides a nutty and smoky depth to the party. I also really enjoyed this dish, and if you're looking for a little spice in the morning, this is the go-to! To sum up, The Eldo's brunch game is on-point.
