Ths specials today are the same, soo we'll go with "Sentimental Saturday and show oyou a photo from way back before we changed the entrance. Behind us you see the Waiting roo and to the right of that out of site was the same front desk that sits at the new entrance. A friend snapped this and sent it. As for the weather today, according to Wundergrund: Plentiful sunshine. High 68F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph. But believe mw, in a sheltered spot, which our outdoor patio is, it's... much hotter! You'll likely want some shade! I sat in our outdoor patio to day with my luch and couldn't stay long after eating, I was getting sunburned! Order extra to take home, that's what I always do! Memorable Mondays! Looks like we have one more day before the rain comes again! I was up at 4:30 this morning - yes, that's oversleeping for me - and I've done only very essential things before getting this up! You know - brushing my teeth, taking early morning meds so that I can keep breathing - that sort of thing - oh and of course a little morning coffee! ('m due for a refill of that!)... Then it took me over an hour to get this up - and it's not up yet, so fingers crossed again! Good morning! Not quite so late this morning - I have decided to believe that's a sign of better things to follow as the day progresses! While I'm quite weary from not being able to carry on with my own photography addiction, due not only to not being able to go anywhere, but that now my phone will not post photos!... BUT - I'm so grateful for friends, long time and new, some I've yet to meet in person, but hoping to! They share their photos with me - like this beautiful shot of a California Quail, taken by a new friend, Kim Steed. I'll give you more information about how to reach her and see more of her beautiful photos in the comments. Meanwhile, La Luna, a waning gibbous, 92%visible, is outside my kitchen door this morning! She peeked in at me while I was getting a hot cup of coffee! Did I take a photo? You know I did, otherwise this may have gone up before 6:30! Didn't have time to get my real camera, she moves quickly out of my limited viewing area due to being surrounded by trees. So, I used my phone, ever hopeful that the photo issue with that will be corrected. Stay safe out there! And remember, you CAN get here from there - people often think you can't because of the road closure in Big Sur. We'll be open today from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM with outdoor seating available, it's heated! Like our cover photo! Wear a jacket or sweatshirt though! It is chilly as the day wears on.

In case you're thinking, 'Oh boy, she's really late this morning!' Facebook has given me the "Aw Snap!" spaceman several times this morning! and got it once from my weather site as well! I'm reusing this same photo from KSBY that I posted yesterday in order to let you all know again for those who may have missed it yesterday, That Ragged Point is OPEN and the restaurant as well! Naturally, I'd love it if you just drove up for the view and stopped at El Chorlito on the way up... or back, but I realize not everyone has an El Chorlito addiction like I do and Bob and I used to often enjoy a Busman's holiday for a quick lunch break once we had someone to cover for us. We're open later now too and able to serve you at outdoor tables! Get your El Chorlito while the sun shines! Stay safe pot there! Crazy people drive on wet roads too! Yikes! But I just heard from Pat Riley that Ragged point is open including the restaurant!

Sunday Funday TBT photo taken in May of 2007 on one of our trips. We had walked from our parking spot to see a Broadway show, when we came out, it was raining. Bicycle drawn carts were lined up at the curb, waiting "at your service!" Rain was expected, so we were prepared with lightweight raincoat that I bought in N.O. along the way and Bob with his umbrella. The bicycle driver saw me trying to take photos through the small openings of surrounding sights - he jumped off hi...s bike and said "Would you like me to take your picture?" Well here's the answer - he raised the rain shield and stood back in the middle of a busy intersection, oblivious to the traffic, they just went around him! They do things a little differently in NYC! Anyway, we're expecting some much needed rain today! Not complaining, but drat the luck - rain is scheduled for just the hours we are open! Take-Out today 11:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Put your raincoats on and/or grab your umbrella when you go out today! And we'll be open again tomorrow if you don't make it today. Stay safe out there, wear your mask and stop the spread! Update: It is indeed raining at El Chorlito! Though the weather outside is getting frightful, Christmas lights are so delightful! Yep! It's cooling off and getting windier! Bundle up when you go out, and Take-Out at home or in your room if you're visiting our area, all cozy and warm sounds good, doesn't it? As for tomorrow, it won't be a SUNday living up to its namesake! WunderGround is predicting afternoon showers! That may change of course, it often does! But we need them for ever so may reasons!... Right now they're saying at about 2:00 P.M. so grab your umbrella or rain bonnet to cover that freshly coiffed hair! (If you have a COVID do like mine, rainwater is good for the hair!) Watch out for slick roads too! When it hasn't rained for a while, all that oil rises off the pavement and causes lots of slipping and sliding! Whatever your plans are, stay safe out there! Wear the mask and stop the spread! And by all means, eat the Black-Eyed-Peas come New Year's Day!

This photo was the afterglow of the same sunset I used in yesterday's post. Once again I will put the uncluttered version in the comments. I'm most grateful for last night's rain. It's not light enough to get a proper look at my rain gauge yet and way too chilly out there to step closer, so maybe later. For now, I'm happy to be inside where I'm comfortably warm. We did only indoor seating yesterday, no one was the least bit interested in patio dining! I don't blame them o...ne bit! Whatever your plans are, stay safe out there! Don't forget the roads are always much slicker after that first rain when all the accumulated oil comes floating to the top!

OPEN TODAY AT 11:30 AM For Take-Out! It's cooling off! ... And look. a little wetness this morning - not enough to measure, but the garden will be delighted! This photo was taken out my kitchen window yesterday just as the sun was about to go down, there was a bit of smoke from a recent fire, but the AQI is much better today. That makes me happy! I'll be getting more Take-Out today, how about you? It's Friday, maybe a shrimp enchilada! Whatever you're doing today, stay safe out there! Wear the mask and stop the spread and be sure you eat those Black-Eyed-Peas & Greens on New Year's Day 2021! It's right around the corner!

It took me so long to restart my computer this morning when I tried to post this the first time and couldn't get into my photos, that I've forgotten what I planned to say! My own supply in the refrigerator lasted me through the two days closed and now I can get more fresh stuff!... It's cooling off! Whoops! Well, I'm hoping with time I'll figure out how to use this photo editing software or perhaps find another one more to my liking. I could do it over, but then this would be late and so would my breakfast! Ooh, I wish it wasn't quite this early, a Morales Special would be really good for breakfast! Today's weather, though much the same as yesterday will be just a little cooler. That Blue Moon has messed with my favorite photo editing program, so it is also a bit less informative. Best I can do this morning, but I've got the same ol' Pen Way & Jasper Ave. WU station up. Questions and/or comments most welcome. Looked to me like a lot of moisture around that moon, so I was most hopeful, but alas, it looks dry as a bone out my window this morning. Oh, the photo. I woke ...up in the middle of the night and that was how the moon looked when I looked up at my skylight. Have a beautiful day and stay safe out there!

The bad news, smoke level is up a little this morning, the good news, seems to be getting better - since I got up anyway, which was late! Yes, I took advantage of that extra hour. I needed it I was out late for a moonlight broom ride!!! Yes, Halloween is over, but we're smack dab in the middle of the 2020 Day of the Dead which started October 31 and ends November 2nd. That's right, that too comes during this Blue Moon event! Powerful things going on! Stay safe out there everyone!

Halloween is over, but with it began the "Dia De Los Muertos" which goes through November 2nd. there are many articles out there, I quickly chose one to share - have to get my weather report done - and I took advantage of that extra hour this morning! So, no time to spare!

The big day is here!

I didn't have to change much on my "Copy and Paste" format. Four degrees hotter - (not my favorite part!) the date and Friday to Saturday. A few one minute changes on the sunrise and sunset section and now I can start to get ready for my broom ride across that Blue Moon tonight! There's so much to do! Oh, as for today's TBHalloween photo, this was our Talavera Coyote - he's finally going to be able to howl at a Blue Moon! He'll have to do it somewhere else though, he used to sit in the spot where Bob is out there greeting visitors, customers and Scarecrow gazers! Happy Halloween everyone! Stay safe out there!
