Attention Herd! This week we will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of women’s suffrage in the United States. Each day we will post key facts about this great historical movement. On Friday, our Spirit Day colors will be the women’s suffrage movement colorspurple, white, and gold. Wear any of these colors OR a combination of them. #herdpride

This message is from the EGHS Desi Club! Navratri celebrates the victory of good over evil. For nine nights, it celebrates 3 of the different dedications of the Goddess Durga. It represents the 9 day battle between Durga and the demon Mahishasura. In the end, Durga emerges victorious and we celebrate Her win every Autumn. Garba is a form of dance which originates from the state of Gujarat in India. Garba is a dance that honors, worships, and celebrates the feminine form of divinity.

If you missed it, the Herd teamed up with our feeder elementary and middle schools to show our school and community pride. This past week was so much fun celebrating TOGETHER. Thank you Fieckert, Baker, Markofer, McKee, and Kerr staff and students for rocking with the Herd! We look forward to doing this again next year! WE ARE ELK GROVE!!!

This would have been our Homecoming weekend. ASB chose to create a rally video with performances by our band, cheerleaders, drumline, RM, and a special guest appearance by our Spirit champion Ms. Lawson. Thank you ASB students for putting this together #herdpride

Mr. Larin is one of our star teachers at EGHS. But he is a rock star on spirit days! Our staff is always on point when it comes to #herdpride

For this Spirit Week, we have teamed up with Feickery Elementary, Markofer Elementary, Jessie Baker School, McKee Elementary, and Joseph Kerr Middle to celebrate together. We hope to start a new tradition in sharing our spirit throughout our regional schools!
