This 3.5-acre space contains a sports field, a walking path, a series of historical interpretive signs and a sculpture by artist April Banks entitled A Resurrection in Four Stanzas. The art instillation was developed through the Belmar Histo...ry + Art project to commemorate the home of a thriving African American community in the 1950s and to honor their contribution to present day Santa Monica. The city held a virtual grand opening on February 28, 2021 to officially open the park, located at 1840 4th Street, Santa Monica, CA 90404.
