Congratulations Mrs. Murcko: Staff of the Year! We are so happy to announce that Mrs. Diana Murcko has been awarded the Staff of the Year award! It’s been a crazy and very untraditional school year, but Mrs. Murcko has stepped up and taken on her new role as Head Aide and Daycare Director in such an amazing way. She is so caring, kind, and continually gives her best in all that she does. Congratulations, this award is well deserved.

We had a guest visitor today! Our K-2nd grade classes are learning all about lambs and how Jesus is our shepherd and we are his sheep. This morning they were visited by a sheep and her two lambs. They got to learn all about what a sheep eats, things they like to do, and more. We absolutely love opportunities where lesson plans can come to life!

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to ECS next week! The book fair will be here from February 22nd to February 26th! Book fair hours will be during your child’s library classes and before and after school with an adult. Masks are required for students and parents during before and after school shopping. Get ready! The annual Apex Fun Run Fundraiser is coming to ECS next Tuesday, March 16th! This year will be a little different as all lessons will be virtual. We will have Apex staff on campus to get students excited, and the Fun Run will be live as well. We are so excited to be able to hold our biggest fundraiser this year!

Four-Day Weekend is Here! There’s no school today or Monday, February 15th, in observance of President’s Day. Enjoy the long weekend with friends and family! We’ll see you back at school on Tuesday!

Our Kindergarten Information Morning is coming!! Do you or someone you know have a child that will be entering kindergarten next school year? If so, please join us February 11th from 8:40-9:30AM for our Kindergarten Information Morning. We we will be meeting in the Worship Center for a presentation followed by a tour. Please wear a mask and be mindful of social distancing. Coffee and pastries will be served at the Outpost patio area. We hope to see you there!

Staff of the Month Highlight! This month we’re highlighting our 5th grade teachers Mrs.George and Mrs.Holzschuh! They are an amazing team and work so hard to creatively engage their students and teach them in new ways. We love these amazing ladies and are so happy to have them on staff! And Scene! Our 3rd-4th Grade Drama Variety Show was amazing! It certainly didn’t look like years prior since the entire thing had to be done outside, but we still made sure the show went on. The theme was Finding Funny in 2020 and the kids knocked it out of the park. Check out these highlights from some of the skits.

It was a good day Our EPD gift pick up was a huge success! Our students were so excited to be able to help our Escondido Police Department this year as they collected gifts for their annual Children’s Christmas Party. We are honored to be able to partner with our community and bless those in need. A huge shoutout to @escondidopolice and @escondidochristian for making this happen! ECS loves you!!

Yay it’s almost the weekend! Don’t forget we have a three-day weekend coming up. That’s right, THREE DAYS. There is no school on Monday October 12th which is reserved for Columbus Day. Enjoy your long weekend!

Staff of the Month Highlight! Every month we honor a staff member at ECS, and this month Diana Murko was our clear choice. She has been absolutely rocking her new position as head aide and daycare director, and we believe that her commitment to performing her job duties with excellence and her care for students are unmatched. We are so thankful to have Mrs. Murko on our team, be sure to give her some love in the comments because she is AMAZING!

In honor of the Padres making it to playoffs we will be having free dress Baseball Day tomorrow on 9/30. Have your child rep their favorite baseball team, and be sure to take a picture and tag us in it! If you don’t have any baseball gear, please feel free to wear any other sports team uniform of your choosing. Go Padres!

Taking every student’s temperature daily is an important task for many of our staff, but who says we can’t have fun while doing it?

Today we honor not only those who lost their lives 19 years ago, but also all the heroes who responded with courageous action during one of the darkest moments in our nation’s history. We all look back and have memories of that day, be it where we were or what we were doing, and have gratitude that this terrible tragedy allowed us to grow stronger as a country. We are truly blessed to be one nation under God.

At the start of every year our staff is given a Bible verse of the year that we teach our students, hang in our classrooms, and declare over our school. This year our verse is Isaiah 55:10-11, The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. Join us this year as we stand on this powerful verse and remind ourselves that the Word of God will never return void!

Exciting news ECS friends and families! We are beyond blessed and ecstatic that we’ve officially been approved to open our doors for on-campus learning. School begins September 8th and we cannot wait to see our students once again after these long five months apart.

It’s teacher appreciation week and though we’re separated during this time, we have still found ways to bless our amazing teachers. A big thank you to all our teachers who work tirelessly to give our students a great Christ-centered education. You guys are awesome!

This whole quarantine may be stressful and uncertain, but we are very thankful for the transition that has been able to take place at ECS. We are excited that our students are receiving new ways to learn, and are developing new skills through online instruction. What a blessing that we live in a time where technology let's us not skip a beat on excellent educational experiences.
