got S P O T S?! ingrown hairs can be very common with any type of hair removal, especially in the summer months. and unfortunately, some skin / hair types are more prone to them year round. so let’s talk prevention + healing P R E V E N T I O N :... be sure to see an experienced licensed esthetician who specializes in Brazilian waxing with some years under their belt not all estheticians are created equal - we all have our strengths be sure that your hair is at least 1/4 inch - 1/2 inch long for your appointment. if the hair is too short you run the risk of breaking the hairs instead of plucking it from the follicle which equals redness, irritation + ingrown hairs exfoliate well 24-48 prior to your appointment, this will allow any hairs that are stuck under dead skin cells to pop up + be easily removed by the wax instead of growing back down causing...INGROWNS! hey girl, drink your water + then drink some more. + then drink some more. + then...you get the picture. hydrated skin is happy skin and happy skin doesn’t get ingrowns, it just doesn’t! (Also, if you got that legally blonde reference, I fucking love you) now, if you’ve already got some ingrowns let’s talk about... H E A L I N G : let your skin breathe! wear loose clothing after your wax, go commando if you’re comfortable, otherwise, cotton undies for the win make sure you are showering within 15 minutes after your wax, otherwise the sweat and your @lululemon’s that make your booty look oh so good will combine forces, rub on your skin, build up bacteria and create irritation + ingrowns (duh, you guys know the theme) avoid sex (there are no loopholes here, guys), working out, swimming (pools, jacuzzis, oceans) for 12-24 hours after your appointment S P O T treat with tea tree oil - the key words are spot treat, do not rub all over your bikini area otherwise you’re asking for more irritation if all else fails, chemical peels + @pfb are where it’s at if you have any questions leave them below or DM me and I’ll answer them without even the mention of your name #bare_oc
