The Vista Farmers Market is OPEN Saturday just as we have been every Saturday in 2020, through the pandemic, through it all. We are open, with your support. <<...<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>> Two popular participants are returning this week Prager Brothers -- with locally made bread and other baked goods. Sweet Tree Farms -- with a variety of California-grown fruit. --------------------------------- Parking at the Vista Farmers Market there is ample parking . . . however they are still paving parts of the parking lot (in front of the law library mostly), doing some earthwork, and installing solar panels. The solar arrays should be finished within a month (at least the parts anywhere near the market). You might want to pull in one entrance further South (on Melrose) near the Pancake House, and walk down the stairs for a few weeks, OR come in turn left or right and find a parking spot. Have patience, take a short walk, come on out. Jewelry Repair Did you know the Vista Farmers Market has its own on-site jeweler? Samantha, the owner of Samantha Dulay Designs, has been part of the market for over eight years, and in business for over 10. She can do most repairs on the spot (some will need to be picked up in a week or two), and can also create custom pieces that are ready the same day while you shop for produce. Stop by her booth this week and say hi, if you haven't already! A Challenge We are asked every week since the pandemic began: "Is the Vista Farmers Market open this Saturday?" -- "Is the Vista Farmers Market closed like most other markets?" -- "Is it now farmers only?" The actions taken by a few dozen customers and market supporters in the last few weeks SAVED the market from: 1/ shifting to farmers only or 2/ having to charge more than half the participants $100 a year each, or 3/ closing. In this case, caring meant taking 55 seconds to write a note, take a selfie, and upload it to a website. Simple, and it worked. In answer to this week’s question, "Is the Vista Farmers Market open for all vendors, not just farmers?" The answer is YES, and at least 50% of the reason is because people showed that they cared.
