El Camino College EOPS/CalWORKs/CARE Alumni Association

We are back! The excitement is high!!! The EOPS/CalWORKs/CARE is hosting a Masquerade Celebration Comedy Affair that includes comedy, entertainment, dancing and a silent auction. The event will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 from 6-10 p.m., in the El Camino College East Dining Room (above the Bookstore). You may come as you are, and we will provide the mask for a small fee. The funds raised from this event will make a difference in the lives of our EOPS/CalWORKs/CARE ...students who are both educationally and financially disadvantaged. You can support our fundraiser in one or more of the following ways: Purchase an individual ticket for $20.00, or reserve a table for 8 guests for $160.00 Sponsor a student who otherwise would not be able to attend. Donate items for our Silent Auction by March 11, 2015 which will also occur at this event. Please make checks payable to the El Camino College Foundation and specify EOPS/CalWORKs/CARE in the memo section of the check. We are asking that all ticket purchases and contributions be received by March 11, 2015 in the EOPS Office, Student Services Building Room-203, 16007 Crenshaw Blvd., Torrance, CA 90506, attention David Brown, [email protected] (310) 660-3593 ext. 6088.

The EOPS program is proud to support the "Adopt a Family" holiday recruitment and retention event at El Camino College on Friday December 12, 2014. If you can find any room in your personal budget please consider donating a toy to a child in our CARE/ CalWORKs programs. Effective today, Tuesday, July 5, 2011, the application for admissions for Winter 2012 and Spring 2012 will open. We encourage prospective students to apply quickly. Registration appointment times as new students will be determined by the date of their application.

Attention: Effective June 30, 2011, the application for admissions for Summer 2011 for El Camino College and the Compton Center is now closed. Any person attending a class that never applied to the college for the Summer 2011 term will not be able to apply for this term, is not considered a student, and will not receive credit for attending the class.

Please join us in celebrating the holidays by adopting one or more children of our CARE/CalWORKs students. During the holidays, many of our students struggle to afford gifts for their children. Your donations count and will bring smiles and wonderful memories to our families in the CARE/CalWORKs programs.

Student Success Starts with EOPS! Categorical programs like EOPS and CARE have already been proven successful in the Community College system, they are key to ensuring student success!
