We're on our way to stealin' your toast @madd.healthy:"Figgie toast’n!! (on this yummy @zukkeekitchen GF/vegan sourdough) - I recently learned how to actually eat figs (if you saw on my stories + a lot of people made fun of me for not knowing ), but I’m glad I learned, b/c now I’m in love. PB&Figs combo is . (these are tiger figs from TJ’s which is why they’re yellow/green on the outside) - We served this on @zukkeekitchen GF/vegan sourdough bread. And it was so good!!! ...99% of the time I am grain-free for health reasons, but sourdough has a lot of benefits that other breads don’t, so we were excited to give this a try! - This one is made fully gluten-free which is important because even though most of the gluten is fermented out, of real sourdough, unfortunately I can’t digest any gluten at all, even in small/trace amounts, and I know that goes for many of you as well! So I love that this has the benefits of sourdough bread, without the risk of gluten contamination (for those of us that are extra sensitive/allergic/intolerant) - The fermentation process for sourdough bread modifies the structure of carbohydrate molecules which reduces the glycemic index of the bread - so it’s better for blood sugar. Sourdough bread is also typically easier to digest than most bread due to the prebiotic content and probiotic-like properties. Prebiotics are non-digestible fiber that feed the beneficial bacteria in your gut, which supports digestion.
