Paid Stanford Study Are you a parent with a daughter who is 9-12? Has your child experienced stress? If so, you and your child may be eligible to participate in a unique study project of how early stress affects the way in which children think and process emotional information, as well as their brain functioning. The study takes place in the Psychology Department at Stanford University. Your child would participate in interviews, complete questionnaires, play games to win pri...zes and gift cards, and possibly participate in an fMRI brain scan. The MRI scan does not use radiation, and does not have any known physical risks. Eligible pairs will receive $25/hour for their time. This is a unique longitudinal study that will include one session now, and up to 4 follow-up sessions, 9-12 months apart. We will schedule the visits around your availability (daytime, evenings, and weekends). Your daughter will be a part of a very special group of kids we are following through development, and will receive a tote bag and other fun items for participating. If so, you and your child may be eligible to participate in a study of how early stress affects the way in which children think and process emotional information, as well as their brain functioning. The study takes place in the Psychology Department at Stanford University. Your child would participate in interviews, complete quest...ionnaires, do some computer activities, and possibly participate in an fMRI brain scan. Eligible pairs will receive $25/hour for their time. The study has a time commitment of 2-5 hours over the course of one or two visits, with follow-up sessions scheduled 18-24 months later.
