Next Wednesday, college student Daniel Chun will be leading a group called Sam's Club. The name Sam's Club comes from the stories of young Samuel and the Good Samaritan. In these stories, Samuel learned how to listen and discern, and the Samaritan man did what was right and was a neighbor to the beaten man.... Sam's Club will be discussing how we, as young men, can also learn how to listen and do what is right. Our first topic is "What is a man?" In this first week of Sam's Club, Daniel will be leading a discussion exploring how we love the Lord, build up our neighbors, and take care of ourselves. All young men are invited! Our youth ministry came together and we agreed that we should have a place to wrestle with this upsetting/frustrating matter of events. I’m thankful that even though senior year is different for my class, the community of people around us are nevertheless supportive. Schools, youth leaders, and parents have been doing so many tremendous things to help us celebrate. Despite the cancellations, I am extremely grateful that for my friends and family’s support and encouragement @katieng2 //#thankfulthursday #sjcacyouth

I’m grateful for my family and the Christian community that has pushed me to try new things that I never would have tried on my own, from playing volleyball to going to Mexicali! They have kept me from feeling alone in many desperate times and all my greatest memories consist of my church family! I still remember one of my biggest birthday parties was held on the deck at church and I think I had three different birthday cakes! This was right before my family left for Malaysia which was like 10 years ago(?) and I still remember to this day. Music has always been my number one escape from the real world, but I've come to appreciate it even more ever since the shelter in place order began. Sometimes I get fed up with having nothing to do or with having too many seemingly useless tasks to do, but listening to music or a podcast always puts me in a better mood no matter what. I've discovered so many new songs and podcasts in the last two months and I'm really grateful for the time I have right now to explore other people's works and to also create my own music. @jchow03 //#thankfulthursday #sjcacyouth
