DUD'S DOODLES: As you may have heard, we lost one of the 20th Century's finest actors today, #SeanConnery. Starting with "Dr No" in 1962, and continuing with "From Russia With Love" into "Goldfinger" and 4 more James Bond films, Sean Connery WAS James Bond. Roger Moore and Daniel Craig were decent in that roll, but Connery was the best. Cool, suave, devinere, sophisticated, and most of all convincing in that role, there will never be another James Bond like Sean Connery. T...he first time I saw him was in "Goldfinger" in February of 1965 while on a snow trip for school. We went "inner tubing" at Squaw Valley up in the Sierras, then straight to see "Goldfinger". I'll never forget it. Fast cars, beautiful girls, mystery, action and brilliant actors. All of them. including the evil bad guys, "Odd Job" and "Goldfinger" himself. When Shirley Bassey belted out the theme song, I was hooked, and always will be. Sean Connery did have other notable roles. His co-star in Hitchcock's "Marnie", Tippi Hedrin once told me some very personal stories about her relationship with Sean Connery. I can't repeat them with children in the room .
