I’m going to take a wild guess and say that most likely in the last 24 hours you have sat for at least 2 hours ... which means you’ve been working your HIP FLEXORS! Doesn’t feel like work right?! Right! And that’s why we often times ignore our overworked hip flexors! Have you ever had killer pain on the sides of your belly or into your groin?! Commonly this pain can be related very tight or spastic hip flexors!... These pains can be even worse during Your hip flexors get tight when you create Hip Flexion aka sitting at work, at home, on the couch, driving, airplane etc. So if we sit for long periods of time it can cause your hip flexors to tighten, if you repeat this day in & day out it becomes chronic and can cause serious pain! When we are pregnant this can become amplified by the weight of the belly! As the pregnant belly grows the hip flexors act like suspenders helping to carry the weight. Just a small amount of sitting can really irritate your hip flexors and cause pain! What can you do?! 1 Sit less! The less we sit and the more we can stay in motion the less stiff our hip flexors will get! When we are pregnant birth/aerobics ball can be a great alternative to sitting on the couch! 2 Stretch! Stretch those hip flexors! Some of my favorites are pigeon, high lunge & low lunge. Through your pregnancy your favorite hip flexor stretch may change. Just adapt with your body and your capabilities! 3 Get adjusted! When you’re spine and pelvis are out of place it can cause one hip flexor to be tighter than the other, not only does this cause pain but it reduces the space available for the baby to move, grow and eventually turn into the ideal birthing position! Make sure to seek care from a Prenatal Chiropractor who can provide a specific technique for pregnant women that relaxes the hip flexors! Did you have hip flexor pain during your pregnancy?! Or ever?! . . . . . #birth #pregnant #pregnantaf #pregnantproblems #fitpregnancy #pregnancy #pregnantlife #prenatalchiropractic #doula #childbirth #wellness #newmom #momlife #preggo #30weeks #midwife #breastfeeding #babywearing #sandiego #fitmom #sandiegomom #prenatalchiropractor

Hi there! I’m Kayla, Dr. Kayla, LeeLee, maaaamaaa. I’m a wife, mom, family Chiropractor and a human.... More than ever I’m identifying with that last one ... human. Why? More than ever I feel we need to strip away these labels, titles, and masks (mild pun intended) and remind ourselves on what/who we truly are. I am a human, who’s innate purpose is to survive. How do I survive, by maintaining a healthy machine (aka body) that is able to defend itself during challenging times (flu season, Covid season, stressful events/weeks). If my machine is weak aka poor immune system, sick frequently, chronic disease, poor function then I will not be able to defend myself. The disease will prevail and I will loose (aka die!) No vaccine, no medication, no miracle drug will replacement your body’s incredibly intelligent and powerful immune system. Only you, your daily actions and choices will determine the strength of your immune system and your innate capability to defend itself! So just like me you are human, and your actions today will determine your health tomorrow! So just remember ... YOU ARE IN CONTROL!!! I’ll jump off my soapbox! #iamhuman #darwanismatwork #youareincontrol

Yes!! Kids gets adjusted! And yes, they need Wellness Care aka spinal checks even when there is no pain aka Proactive Care aka maintaining their health before there is a problem! Why?! Because our spines surround & protect our Nervous System! Our Nervous System controls every cell, tissue & organ in the body and it therefore tells our body how to function.... When we have a spinal misalignment the Nervous System gets all frazzled and sometimes the different cells, tissues or organs will start to have dysfunction! For Kids that dysfunction can be: Bed wetting Ear Infections Constipation Painful Bowel Movements Headaches Back and/or Neck Pain Walking with one or both feet inward or outward Leg pains Epilepsy/Seizures Asthma And the list continues! If we are having these problems that means our Nervous System is potentially already having dysfunction! We want to help your kids avoid these issues, or alleviate and prevent them from happening in the future ... aka WELLNESS! So if you haven’t had your child checked, it’s never too late to start them and keep them on the right (healthy) track! . . . . . #immunebooster #kids #newmomlife #newborn #infant #baby #postpartum #postpartumbody #postpartumlife #breastfeeding #momblogger #babywearing #newmom #newmama #love #doula #love #wellness #workout #crunchymama #momlife #fitpregnancy #sandiegomom #momlife #sandiegofitness #sandiego #socalmom #newmomproblems #obchiropractic

If youre a patient you know we are always talking about the four most common contributing factors to headaches!... Water/Electrolyte Imbalance Glucose/Blood Sugar Imbalance Hormonal Imbalance Structural Imbalance If you are covering the first 3 potential causes, we must look to the structure next ..... insert Chiropractic Care! Chiropractic Care can be an amazing resource for Headaches. Care is gentle, safe & effective for both adults & children! First hand experience y’all! Nursing Neck is real! What is Nursing Neck well it’s a term we use at @obchiropractic to describe the the pain, muscle spasms, tightness/stiffness, headaches, reduced range of motion that can occur after nursing frequently and for long periods of time. Nursing forces you to look down and turn your head in the weirdest positions to ensure baby is latching, feeding, not sleeping, etc.... When faced with these physical stressors your neck & the bones of you neck can become kinked or misaligned resulting in the above symptoms. So what do I do to help my Nursing Neck?! 1 Get Adjusted- Hands down one of the most important things you can do is make sure the cervical aka neck bones are in alignment, if they are not then you will have reoccurring episodes of this! 2 Stretch- Stretching is so important to help release the tight soft tissue, stretching coupled with adjustments is a miracle worker! 3 Heat- Heat helps bring blood flow to the soft tissue to help the area heal and reduce stiffness. Once we’re past 24 hours we want to use heat not ice. Hot showers, heat packs, whatever works for you! 4 Ergonomics- last but not least, make sure you are supporting yourself during Nursing. Whether that’s with a specific pillow or arm rests. Do your best to support your body because to sustain these positions without support is what really aggravates the Neck & Back! Questions?! Tell me what worked for you?! . . . . . #neckpain #headaches #newmomlife #newborn #infant #baby #postpartum #postpartumbody #postpartumlife #breastfeeding #momblogger #babywearing #newmom #newmama #love #doula #love #wellness #workout #crunchymama #momlife #fitpregnancy #sandiegomom #momlife #sandiegofitness #sandiego #socalmom #newmomproblems #instagood #obchiropractic
