What got me into dentistry? I always gravitated towards science and art in school. I used to build sculptures in the back yard and sit and draw floor plans in my bedroom as a kid. Training to be an architect was on my mind, but being exposed to different careers in healthcare while job shadowing in high school set me on the path. I first worked in a dental office during college as a dental assistant. I came to love the patient interaction, the hands-on procedural work, the pr...ocess of making a smile look and function better, each new case different than the last. Today, as an esthetic and restorative dentist, I get to work technically and creatively everyday and interact with many different types of amazing people. Ultimately it’s about thatbuilding trusting professional relationships and helping people enjoy life and feel better about themselves. It’s very rewarding. Yep, this dentist thing is pretty great.
