The Warriors & The Wise design will be 1 of 2 Dragon School designs selected for installation on the Downtown Oakland Square HQ. These designs will be put on the current giant billboards that once displayed the Sears name . This was designed by @jackpot0706 - She achieved this honor by working hard and having loyalty, integrity and follow through. Well written words posted by @marianaprutton This serendipitous outdoor art extravaganza with @dragonschool99 and a crew of other artists was such a treat. This outdoor parklet was for a restaurant in Alameda (my birth place!) called Kitchen of Alameda. The restaurant staff and Dragon School partners were so giving- making sure we had enough to drink and eat and were cheering us on the entire way. The other artists were so talented and kind. It was a reminder of the import...ance of moving outside your typical comfort zone because that’s where you learn about yourself and your art process. It’s also where you get the opportunity and privilege of meeting and connecting with new people. Cheers to the power of art and the Bay Area community. The owner of the restaurant was looking for a yin yang and some koi fish for this electrical box. I love the meaning built into a yin yang- with the positive, comes some negative and with the negative, there’s always some positive. It can be hard for us to remember the latter. I hope we can all work to acknowledge the pain and suffering and also not lose sight of the struggles we don’t have and all the things we have to be grateful for. I also learned that in Chinese culture, 3 fish together can mean vitality. Ganbei to that!

Thank you to the Artists of @dragonschool99, we are 90% complete with our new parklet project. Dragon School is a collaboration of young artists from around the Bay Area of different artistic disciplines with one mission, to promote the beauty of art with community collaboration. Our new parklet has a beautiful ...large mural in the front featuring our Fu Sun God of Tiger. We do not have an official name for each of our unique Barrel of Flowers art piece yet so I will be collecting suggestions today. Show your kiddies these pieces and maybe they can name them for me! We will be a container for you to write down the your suggestions. If your name is chosen, we will give the family a 10% discount for the next order. Dragon School started in 2016 to work with many communities to collaborate using creativity. The goal was building bonds, the method was to use art as our conduit . Fast forward 2020 and we still continue to operate in the same way we started- allowing anybody who wants to explore both creativity and community have a forum .
