Updated 4-6-2020: We continue to follow the direction of state and federal officials as well as the California Dental Association in staying closed until further notice. We will be in contact once the Shelter in Place is lifted and it has been deemed safe by governing authorities to resume dental care. We have been advised of significant changes coming to our infection control protocol that will likely require us to change ou...r practice model in some as yet undefined way. We appreciate your patience as we all work through the ever evolving effects of this public health emergency. Stay well. Updated 3-20-2020: The California Dental Association strongly recommends that dentists practicing in California suspend all in-person dental care with the exception of LIFE THREATENING EMERGENCY TREATMENT, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. (See link in the comments) 3-16-2020 NOTICE OF TEMPORARY CLOSURE Dear Patients, In light of the evolving pandemic and strong suggestions by public health officials, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close our practice. We do not make this decision lightly, however our top priority is the health and well-being of our patients, families, staff and community. If you have an appointment scheduled between these dates, we will be in touch to help reschedule your appointment. In the case of emergency situations, please call your primary care provider. We will continue to monitor the situation as it evolves and the guidance from the county, state and the CDC. For now, we will determine on a weekly basis when it is appropriate for us to return to our normal business hours. Again, please understand that we are making this decision with the health and well-being of our patients, our families, our team and our community in mind. We thank you for your patience during this challenging time and wish all of you continued health. Sincerely, Dr. Shelby & Staff

As the news of the COVID-19 pandemic continues to rapidly evolve, it may become advisable to temporarily close our office to aid in protecting our patients, families, staff and community at large. For the time being, please call to reschedule if anyone in the household is sniffling or sneezing. We will continue to update you as we make decisions based on sound science and best practices in advance. Let's all work together to flatten the curve.

Dr. Shelby had fun putting Pollyannas tent together. No we won't make her sleep in it, but she sure does like it.

Pollyanna did great today at the vet. She had to have one extraction for a broken tooth and a sealant on another that also had a fracture, but was able to be saved. She was so spoiled that the vet took a series of photos and shared them with me. Apparently at one point she was in a kennel recovering and began to cry because she didn't want to be alone, so the assistants took her out and kept her with them. They even decorated her bandage by cutting out a little heart and sticking it to her. She will be home resting tomorrow, but the vet said she can go back to work Wednesday. Thank you Dr. Rifat and team, you took great care of our girl!

Even this lil nugget has to go to the dentist ...She has a broken tooth that needs professional care... Send her lots of love. She tried to climb up and over my shoulder to get out of the building all while shaking as if we were in Antarctica.
